Anybody have any information on the new sprint car class they are running at Husets this year. It's called the USRA Next Generation Sprint Cars. Any rules list? I can't seem to find any info on this class anywhere. Thanks!!

Full-up sprint car running a sealed 5.3L electronic fuel injected GM engine. Fuel injection controlled by the PCM box just like in your passenger car.

Like this one:

http://www.schwankeshortblocks.com/Circle%20Track%20Sealed%20Engine%20Programs/485hp%20Sprint%20Car%20Sealed%20Engine%20Program%20$9,999.99/485hp%20Sprint%20Car%20Sealed%20Engine%20Program.htm

I haven't seen any printed rules.

Classic Huset's tradition by not posting rules until the season starts. As like most of their other track specific rules, it is designed so the only place you can race them (and be competitive) is there. Why would you even want the information, just another cheap sprint car class (AKA Hobby Stocks) to thin out the competition and bring in more through the back gate. Give this dumb A$$ class the funeral before it starts.

That's kind of what I was thinking. If you are introducing a new class, why not promote it a bit. It is two weeks before the regular season starts at Husets and no printed set of rules for a brand new class? It's kinda hard to throw a car together without any rules and their regular season opener is in two weeks. Even on there website they are introducing this brand new class, but you go in to their rules section, and nothing on the new class.

World Class lamest promoters I have ever seen. Sealed motor from basically only one provider, I guess that way they only have to scratch one back and keep the money.

If They Were Smart They would have a 305 Fuel injected class Like Jackson,Mn 90 miles east, does and it would help both tracks. But thats un-Rubin like so couldn't do that.

The green flag sprints at Sharon also run a crate motor; they've struggled with car counts for the past four years

Is Huset's really that bad a place to go regularly? I have only been there once and on that night I saw TMAC win from dead last. It seemed like a very racy place to me and the crowd was big. I am curious to hear some opinions of people who go there weekly.

More weight, more regulation, more similarity in the
cars.... that will ensure plenty of thrills for years
to come. Only the most average talent behind the
wheel will be needed with such awesome equipment on
the track!

Husets is an awesome place to watch a sprint car race. The racing if action packed; cars run up against the wall, while others auger on the bottom. Not only is the action on the track intense, but the track layout gives the fans a perfect view.

If someone is thinking about building a new race track, I hope they visit Husets first!

I've only been there twice but enjoyed the place. As noted, sightlines are great and it's a racy place with a lot of character. The racers hang around and party with the fans in the pits afterwards too - basically a fun track from what I saw.

Artie- the track configuration itself is great and produces plenty of good racing action.

The management has screwed with the place SOOOO much and the prices are high, the car counts very low and the program you actually see there now is very poor.

This latest boner with announcing the rules for this new class about 15 days before the season starts is just another in a LONG line of unbelievably stupid mistakes made by Huset's management. I'd be shocked if they have over 3 of these cars for opening night.

Not at all. The track is an excellent track. Very racy and a very nice facility. I grew up going to the track (i am 25 now) and have seen some of the best races in my life there. However, the current management has done nothing but piss off many drivers and not having any rules listed on their website of this new class 2 weeks before their regular season starts is just another example of how bad they really are. I could name you three 410 drivers that said they would not be back for a regular weekly show until the Rubins are gone. It is kind of sad. There is no reason that place shouldn't have 25-30 410s every week. You don't even need to have a 410 under the hood to run strong in the feature. Ask Jake Peters how many times he held off T-Mac with his ASCS 360 under the hood. There is no reason they shouldn't be able to get a couple of the Jackson 360s there on a regular basis as well as a few more from Knoxville. Instead they start off with around 20 and the numbers slowly decline throughout the year (I've seen as little as 10 410s there on a night).

The way they built the grandstands into the side of a hill gives fans a spectacular view of the track. Half-way thru the Outlaw sprint feature race those big right rear tires and the wind from the wings start giving fans a little dose of dirt. Worth it though. Great facility. The black

dirt against the white cement walls a nice contrast from the normal clay at most tracks.

Adding $6 trillion of debt in his 1st term and now if
elected again he wouldn't have to worry about an
electorate in 2016 so the sky is the limit. And his EPA
would continue to put the screws to oil drilling and
mining for coal. Can you say bankruptcy.

Huset's is a great place to watch sprint cars. Ultra-fast high banked, 3/8 mile track. Two grooves. Unfortuantely the WoO shows leave a little to be desired, usually rubber down, one lane track by feature time but the weekly shows are very good. The Rubin's do however pull some pretty dirty moves that benefit there pocketbook but leave the fans and the teams aggrivated. One thing that aggrivates me is that they won't put up the money to get an ASCS race because they feel they can get the car count regardless. They do get a good 360 count but I wish they would think about it from the fans point of view. You get an ASCS show at Huset's and you WILL have around 50 sprint cars signed in at the back gate and it will without a doubt be an awsome race to watch.

And about half the people in the stands from a weekly show. As a promoter, I would care less on the car count of a show if only half the people are going to show up in the stands since it is a 360 show.

The fans of Huset's live and breath for 410 racing that revolve around their weekly drivers and the touring groups that come to the track. There's a reason now that the All-Stars have a 2 night show and not the ASCS.. and its because its 410 racing (shocking).

Simple economics go a long, long way, but then again everybody thinks they are too smart for these simple economics and they have a bigger, and brighter idea... and they are always wrong as in the case here.

I don't disagre with you Big J. Just think it would be nice to see an ASCS race at Huset's. How many of the local drivers that you say these fans revolve around would race in an ASCS show? Just about all of them. I love the fact that Huset's is one of the few remaining tracks that you can watch weekly 410 racing. I'm not talking about eliminating any other shows to make room for an ASCS show. I'm also not insulting your ability to calculate simple economics or your intelligence level as you have insulted mine. You are pretty quick to take offense to my post. Your last name Rubin?

If Huset's hosted an ASCS race on a Friday night the field would likely include the following drivers:

Greg Bakker, Clint Garner, Billy Alley, Jody Rosenboom, Jack Dover, Wade Nygaard, Dusty Zomer, Micah Schliemann, Robbie Wolfgang, Mitch Runge, John Cressman, Chad Meyer, Troy meyer, Eric Lutz, Lee Grosz, Scott Winters, Chuck Swenson, Bryan Dobesh... I know there are many more locals that I am not mentioning, probably 10 more teams.

Possible entries: Terry McCarl, Brian Brown, all of the rest of the Knoxville 360 & 410 drivers that aren't already mentioned.

Make it a Midwest vs Northern Plains and you can add 10 more good teams.

Make it a ASCS National race and you can add all of those guys...I don't even need to mention their names becuase people already know them.

Now Big J, I may be digging my own grave with what I'm about to say an it's not a shot at you either but if the fans at Huset's don't come out to watch a show like this because it's a 360 show then don't you think they're being a bit ignorant? I think the turn out would be substantial. Getting rich on one race...of course not. But I would be willing to bet it's bettet than a weekly show as far as attendance.

I am not against having any type of ASCS show at Huset's at all. I would definitely show up to it if it was a National show because I know the drivers that are out on that tour.

But your typical Huset's fan, who only goes to Huset's on a Sunday night and maybe the WoO shows, would not come out to the show on a Friday night for anything other than a WoO race because they have other activities to do with their families during the summer; slowpitch softball, Canaries, Storm, dinner & movie, etc. Even the WoO race last year held on a Friday was down in attendence compared to the usual July 3rd date. The typical fan doesn't know most of the drivers that are competing on the ASCS tour up here because they've never been to Huset's. They've maybe heard of Gary Wright and Jason Johnson, but they are no Steve Kinser, Danny Lasoski, Craig Dollansky, or, with this year, Sammy Swindell.

It is the name recognition that brings in the casual fans for the Outlaw shows. Hell, during the year of the split I remember hearing a few people in the stands wondering where Kinser was because they just figured he'd be there since it was the WoO!

The car count would probably be in the 40+ range for an ASCS show, and no doubtetly would provide great racing, but there is a reason why Knoxville and Huset's will not book a show anymore and its because they cannot make a profit off of this show due to their fanbases.
