The MidwestDirt Late Model Series has announced a championship points fund for the 2009 season. The winner of the Championship points will receive at least $1000 in cash along with contingency prizes to be named at a later time.
With an increase in shows and car count the sum of the points fund has the potential to increase in amount, which is sure to fuel a competitive spirit for the Late Model community. The Series is still looking for more shows and at a total cost of $6925 is one of the most affordable tickets in the area, paying $1000 to win each race with $200 to start. With an aim focused on the local racers and fans this is a growing opportunity for all involved and we look forward to an increase in strength over the next several years.
Following is the points fund purse for the 2009 season. Keep in mind this is the MINIMUM amount that will be awarded:
To be eligible for points fund drivers must make 75% of scheduled events.

If there are more cars on back that make 75% or more of the shows they will receive $200
Also as a reminder, the MidwestDirt Late Model Series has 2 weight breaks for competitors. Cars running a SUPR or IMCA Spec Motor need only to weigh 2150 lbs. and have the option of running a 12" spoiler. The "Open Motor" cars also are welcome to compete adhering to the 2300 lbs. division with the normal sized spoiler. All drivers interested in running with the series at any point this season are encouraged to register at the website as well for use in promotional items as well as preparation before the races to cut down the registration time.
