Lucas Oil ASCS Postponed by Inclement Weather

TULSA, Okla. (March 25, 2009) – With rain, cold temperatures and a potential winter mix of precipitation in the forecast, this weekend's Lucas Oil ASCS Sprint Car Dirt Series presented by K&N Filters double at Oklahoma City's State Fair Speedway has been postponed.

Lucas Oil ASCS series officials are in discussions with State Fair Speedway promoter Lanny Edwards and track personnel to determine an appropriate makeup date.

The next scheduled event for the Lucas Oil ASCS Sprint Car Dirt Series presented by K&N Filters is at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, AR, on Saturday night, April 18.

Damn!

Why the hell not run next weekend?

I dont think it would be wise to run this any other time than next weekend. There would be no sense in running all the support classes for no points in the middle of the season - and it would be even worse to run in the fall. If they run this in the fall - they wont get near as many ascs cars - no 60+ field - they would be lucky to get 40 (if that). And any support classes they would run - wouldnt get much if it was non points at the end of the year.

I hope they run this thing next weekend. Thats when we would get the biggest bang for the buck. because he would charge 20 no matter what for ASCS National. I dont see what is all to discuss......run it next weekend - we get the most for our 20$ - and ASCS and Lanny get theirs.......everyone's happy.....

Well if the weather service is correct then the sprints would have had to put a snow plow on the front of them to run. The weather service has Okc getting 3-6 with drifts over a ft.

Next weekend may be a little difficult for the fairgrounds with the NSRA street rod show in town. Over half of the main grandstand parking will be fenced in for participant parking.

Oh there is plenty of parking all right! I've already checked into that for my own reasons last fall. Yes, the NSRA SW Nats are next weekend. There will most likely be some old midgets and an old stock car coupe in there too. Hmmmmmmmmmm.................Now I wonder what would have gone good with that weekend? Gee, I'm stumped.
