(Southern Outlaws will set the format for the Mini-Sprints)

All Mods will run an 8-lap heat and then a 10-lap heat on Friday night. Draw for starting positions in the 8-lap heat. Number of heats determined by number of cars. The 10-lap heat will use the same draw -- inverted -- but there will be one less heat race in the second round. This may mean an extra car or two in each heat for the second round (therefore, slightly longer heats) but you don't race against the same cars twice this way. SUPR-style passing points will be used in both heat races. Points from both heats are added together for a points total. Ties are broken by best heat race finish first, and then lowest draw number. Top 8 lock into A and will run a pole dash on Saturday. Next 16 lock into Bs ( 8 & 8 ). Rest to Cs. No passing points on Saturday.

Cya at the races in Many this Friday night!!!

Here's some pics I took today. Track didn't look bad at all to me.

But that being that, this is a new promoter to us. I'm not stamping approval, I'm just letting you know what Corbin wants put out about this race. My job is just that and to do the passing points and qualifying format so I'll see you in the pits Friday night.

The rest is up to Corbin. He's the promoter not me, so feel free to call him. If you have questions on the qualifying format, I can answer those. Corbin wants to do a big show right out of the box and I hope he has some luck with it. He does have a sponsor or two for this deal.

Now, he also wanted me to tell you this about our Louisiana weather...

They called for 50% chance of rain in Many today and the track got about 3 drops -- that's all. I see the early forecasts for Saturday and if it still says that on Thursday, that's going to hurt him some so here's the plan....

First, EVERY EFFORT will be made to finish the show by this Sunday evening. If there comes such a flood that that's impossible, Corbin will rescedule for Sat & Sun March 10th & 11th. If by Thursday night, it looks like close to 100% chance of rain on Saturday (the forecast would hurt the show even if it don't rain!), this big show will move to Mar 10th & 11th with any entry fees returned until then BUT, Sabine will run a one-night show this Friday night if that does happen probably around 1500 to win in MODS. That's IF the Big Star Classic gets postponed.

So for now, you can plan on racing at Sabine Friday night one way or the other.
