One day back in 2006 a few of his friends showed up to honor him for having an overpass rededicated in his name

Since then it has become apparent that we still love the history of which our sport has come from. The people, cars and shenanigans(mostly good) these charactors pulled over the years. Now the effort is coming forth with a Racers Reunion in January, and starting this year, The Lloyd Ruby Invitational.

Yes sir! He'll more than likely be there, along with Jerry Douglas, James Skinner, Gilbert Hudson, you name it, if they're still around more than likely they'll be there.

You wouldn't believe the response I've had today. 4 cars and possibly more from North and Central Texas have shown some serious interest. Hope y'all like cageless midgets, they are showing interest.

There's an old AJ Foyt Silver Crown car out of Tulsa I'm hoping that will come down.

The supermodified count is good and stable at 10+ from what I've seen since the economy took a dive. Several more static displays too.

Chuck Arnolds son from Texas has shown interest. He's got quite a few friends.

The Murphee brothers from Texas have this 70's sprinter finished. Looks like a Roger Beck chassis

We are getting more entries everyday, keep them coming. Here is some bad news, Lloyd is in the hospital again it looks as if he will be released in a few days. Folks if you can make this show to see Mr Ruby please do so, it might be our last chance.

Thanks to everyone, Ron

The former owner of this car and Lloyd are good friends, it would be nice to see this car make the trip from you know where, HINT, HINT KJ!

Here's a little history for ya,

Harold Leep Sr. in the Wilson Offy Killer, Johnny Rutherford in the Dizz Wilson #73, and Jim McElreath in the Dizz Wilson #71. By now Lloyd Ruby already had a ride at Indy and was dabbling in road racing.

IMCA 1962 Minn. State Fair, Harold went on to dominate here in our region, McElreath did well everywhere and Rutherford went on to win Indy 3 times. Tough crowd.
