whoa.
wtf?
whoever made that track was thick in to substance abuse - and had a morbid desire to see many accidents happen.

That was just one end of that track. The other end, I think they nicknamed it the "parking lot", was banked at 45 degrees. I believe the name of that track is Oakland Stadium, the end that you have a pic of is 62 degrees of banking. The size of the track was 5/8ths of a mile and there were no fatalities in the 9 years that the track operated (1946-1955).

The driver in front is Herschell Mcgriff, west coast driver and yes that is Oakland. From the jalopyjournal threads.

i just seen a piece about this track on the speed channel...
it was described as chaos at the turn...
you see why....
