Now is as good a time as any other. This is the official entry thread for the 2009 SFS Fantasy League. To enter all you have to do is post your intent, and your team name, into this thread. This is also everything one needs to know to play (rulebook in a sense lol).
The Entry Deadline is 11pm Wednesday, March 18th. I will spend that following weekend putting the schedule together. And will have the Spring Nationals threads up by Sunday night, March 22nd so everyone can put their picks in for Spring Nationals March 27th, 28th. WE ARE NOT PICKING THE ALL-STATE MODIFIED RACE AT SFS. The 2009 SFS Fantasy League will begin with the Spring Nationals.
As for 2009 rules. No big changes of note from last season. We will still do the 2 pick system (back up picks) - because you just never know who will show, especially in the USA Mods. plus this system will be to our advantage at the beg. of the season with the introduction of the Limited Modifieds. And for now, the scoring method will be the same. 1st = 1 pt. 2nd =2 pts. and on down the line. In a 20 car feature - if your car doesnt make it - you will get a 21. Same goes if it is 16 car feature. You will get a 17. LOW POINT TOTAL WINS. That keeps it extremely simple and effective for everyone to keep track of their scores - and their opponents as well.
If your 1st pick in any class receives 50 show up points from the track, that is your pick to be scored. So if your driver shows up and breaks in hot laps or heat race - its still your pick. It only reverts to your back up pick if your driver does nto show up to race (i.e. doesnt receive show up points).
For any and all first timers - we put 2 picks down for each class. I will put a thread up for Spring Nationals and everyone will put their picks from both nights - there in that thread. After that, its pretty simple. As soon as I get back home each friday night I score everything - and make another thread that shows results and standings after that nights race. That is the thread you will put the next weeks picks in. It's very very simple for all players. especially after the first week.
The schedule and standings go by a head-to-head matchup system. Last year we had 16 teams. So I split it into 2 divisions of 8. It worked out to complete perfection. I put a schedule up and everything. Everyone played their own division twice. and we had an interleague (with no rainouts) so everyone played everyone at least once. and played their own division opponents twice. We dont do drafts. Drafts would be an utter and complete failure for THIS league. Because many classes have just 2-4 drivers that are clear cut ahead of the rest (more or less). So we have the head to head system. What I mean by that is - every week its you against someone else. You put 2 picks for each class that week. yoru 2nd pick is just a backup pick in case your first pick is not there. You and your opponent can even pick the same drivers - but because of the tiebreaker format that rarely happens. You see, if there is a tie, the tiebreaker goes to the player with lower accumalated point total. In every standings - I post that right along with the records.
So anyone with an intent of playing. I only ask that if you enter a team, you stay with it throughout the year. No matter your record or where you are in the standings. Evereyone was real good about that last year, and I truly think that is what made the league fun. If there are a few or more people not picking by mid to late season - then people just basically get bye weeks. thats no good. Thats the only thing I ask of anyone/everyone who does play. Just please stay with it.
In truth, all of these details are insignificant. Everything is always extremely apparent. A player will always know what thread to put their picks in. And I will always go to great lengths so that folks understand how it all works. And anyone can enter and play. But after the 11pm Wed. March 18th deadline, the field will officially be set.
So on that note, if there are any questions feel more then free to ask, in fact, please do. Other than that.
Lets get this show on the road. Anyone who wants to play in the OFFICIAL 2009 SFS FANTASY LEAGUE - post your intent AND your team name - right here in this thread.

Its just fine to add them Bandit19.
I should clarify that. One can enter a team, and put picks in for other friends or family who may not be registered. I dont worry much bout folks playing more than 1 team, we dont play for money so there really isn't much point in doing that. I would hope that folks wouldnt do that.
So yeah if folks would like - enter family and friends - post their picks too. I'll probably enter and for the duration of the season put picks in for my entire family.

Unfortunately, I'm (Circle Jerks) out too this season due to economic times and scheduling conflicts. It kinda stinks because I wanted to be the one to buy the "Cheezampion" a new or gently used RR.
Maybe if my Stimulus Check rolls in on time I can rethink my position. But for now, ya'll have fun. And it is a heck of alot of fun and the braggin' rights week in and week out make it even that much better.
Special Thanks go out to OKCFAN12 for making this deal happen. Good Luck all, Pick a Winner.
