Steve Gastineau's car. I have to admit it was a pretty winged car.
Uncle a is that you in the white suit?

Could be me in my drivers suit and helmet, you never know. But you still haven't guessed who the kid atop the wing is.
I remember when I lettered this car at D.E. Suggs "Racers Corner" it was colder than a witch's....and I never told Steve or Charlie I planned to use Gold Leaf on the car. Of course D.E. had the gas stove at full throttle, I mean wide open. So I had to put a fan on the car to cool it down a bit.
If you have never seen Gold Leaf applied it tends to have some loose fluttering during the curing process, especially when you have a fan directed at your work.
Anyway, Steve and Charlie walked in at this time and I can still recall the first words out of Steve's mouth, "What do we got going on here". I laughed so hard and D.E. jumped out of his seat acting like he was helping me to pick up my tools. Man I miss D.E. All in all the car turned out pretty good and won some races too.
