Tucson Dirt Racing Gears up for 2009

Tucson, AZ (January 16, 2009) – Tucson's dirt raceway will be promoted and operated under the new management of Benji Lyons and Kevin Montgomery for the 2009 season. With the 2009 schedule still a work in progress, the new promoters are working feverishly to complete an action packed year for Tucson race fans.

UMP/ Dirt Car Modified Series will headline the 2009 schedule utilizing the UMP West rules, thus making competitors eligible for National and Regional series points with UMP/Dirt Car.

Additional excitement will be provided by a host of other divisions including: Sprint Cars, Late Models, Super Stocks, Factory Stocks, Desert Dwarf Cars, Modlites and Hornets. Tucson will host the 5th Annual Wes Hurst Memorial to cap off the 2009 season, and have plans to kick off 2010 with the return of the famed Wild West Shootout and The Roger McCluskey Classic.

Benji Lyons commented: “We are looking forward to an exciting 2009 season. We have a lot of plans for Tucson race fans and racers. Tucson's dirt raceway is a great facility and will be a great host to some very exciting races. We have a lot of work ahead of us but we are ready for the challenge and the opportunity to bring good things to a great facility.”

Look for the 2009 Race schedule to be released soon.
