Does anybody know for sure whether that tank had a bladder? Is there a rule for one? all i saw was an aluminum tank...thats kind of scary if it gets busted w/out a bladder and leaks fuel all over causing a fire.... ahh, but then again, drivers have to pay for their own ambulance to the hospital at the chili bowl ...so whats it matter?
do it in the dirt

Fuel Safe guy camped out near Sammy's car told us it indeed did have a bladder.

Well it works very nicely to hide the little blue bottle!

o/k all you racer's , Sammy has no need to use juice. and take a look at the tail of his ride, the fuel cell is just aft of the rear axel, no fuel way back and low as on a std .fuel cell. adds the weight of the fuel to a positive location, better traction. no fuel weight slinging the rear of the car around. seems like a hell of a good idea. give Sammy credit for a GOOD idea.....

Ugly...
Pretty...

To me, all the bodywork looks like some kids did it out of cardboard boxes and duct tape. In fact, because of their scale, a lot of midgets look like souped up glof carts.

.....I was wondering if the square back would help reduce the chance of being knocked sideways by a hit from the rear, compared to all the others that have a tapered nerf bar
....with respect to Sammy's win.....I think we saw a historical event......his first Chili Bowl win was 1989, and his fifth....20 years later
.....will any present racer duplicate that accomplishment?.....maybe Tony Stewart, but I doubt it
.....quote from one of the officials (picked up on my scanner)...."love him or hate him, that son of a gun can drive a race car"
.....looks like I will have to return next year just to get a t shirt with Sammy's 5 wins on it
...does anyone know what his problem was early in the race?

Don't believe he had a problem ... just biding his time waiting to play his cards and letting stuff sort out on the bottom and the top to come in - then he passed 'em like they were lapped cars.

ding ding - exactly!!
Amazing, I wouldn't count him out of getting a couple more!!
Who cares as long as everybody keeps trying and the EVENT stays...
no doubt about it, he is simply one of a kind!!
Sammy said he was just taking it easy at the start and then realized he was taking it a little too easy after he got passed a couple times.

LMAO.... Like the CB is a horsepower track.....
There is more to nitrous than just a "bottle".... Besides, if Sammy were to ever do something like that, he would never bolt on the added weight of a bottle, he would make it integral to a chassis tube.

Sammy is the man when trying new things.. He is very inventive but never has he cheated and he certainly does not have to. The old guy still has talent bottom line....
