We've been going through some old film that my uncle took back in the 60s. This is a short segment from State Fair Speedway in Sedalia,Missouri close to where I grew up but I'm not sure what the year was. I'm guessing mid 60s based on other stuff on the same film. Unfortunately this is all I've been able to get so far as the film is damaged in places. Somebody else is working on that so hopefully there's more that I will be able to get.

Anyway, just thought some of you might be interested even though there's not much to see

That was some cool footage. It's even cooler when you think about the cars themselves...... Big 'ol honkin steel cars with drum brakes haulin the mail on a short dirt track on (presumably) skinny street tires. And then add in the safety equipment of the day (or lack of).
It's not HOW fast you go, but how you GO fast.
