WESTERN PA'S SPITHALER ENTERED CHILI BOWL MIDGET NATIONALS

Rising open wheel star Brandon Spithaler of Evans City, PA will be making his debut start at the international famed 23^rd Annual Chili Bowl Midget Nationals in Tulsa, OK during the race week of January 13^th to the 17^th, 2009. Spithaler will be driving for veteran car owner and chassis builder Dave Ellis of Phoenix, AZ.

“This will be a new learning experience for me” admitted Spithaler. “I am a big fan of the Chili Bowl races and the opportunity to compete in the event is overwhelming me.”

Running the Limited Sprint division for the last two years regularly at Sharon Speedway (Hartford, OH), Spithaler has earned four A-Main feature wins collecting them on July 7^th and September 15^th during the 2007 season and July 19^th and August 2^nd in 2008. His percentage ratio is over 80% of finishing in the top five in the feature event during the two years and 64% of placing in the top three in 2008. He has also notched 11 heat wins during those two years. During special Limited Sprint event feature races of the past two years at other tracks, Spithaler has finished third at Tri-City Speedway, two fifths at Raceway Seven, a second at Sportsman’s Speedway, and a third at Mercer Raceway Park.

After taking third in his first year in the Limited Sprint Points Standing, Spithaler also earned the 2007 Rookie of the Year at Sharon Speedway. In 2008, Spithaler returns to the Hartford, Ohio’s oval to finish second in the Limited Sprint Point Standings.
