I have not been on the board in some time and I was wondering if next year's schedule had been set yet? Did I miss it somewhere on SCRAFAN?

I think you missed the "CRA" part of his inquiry.

To my knowledge it hasn't been released yet. Supposedly only 12 races @ PAS (reliable source) and possibly some shows @ Victorville. Hopefully Tulare, Santa Maria, Ventura and maybe Kings if there is a new promoter in place. Also Manzanita to begin the year and then Las Vegas (on Wednesday) and then to Perris the following Saturday. Midgets included. Calistoga for sure on Labor Day weekend. Maybe Bakersfield on the schedule and another race date for Las Vegas and further north to Ocean and possibly Chowcilla as it is reopening. Anyway it will be interesting for sure once the schedule is out. Just my 2 cents, but would be interested in anyone else's thoughts.

all is very close to what I heard. There is not a new promoter at Hanford this year so I hope I didn't burst your bubble

No not quite Micro. Smile I still hold out hope for Kings and hope that it has a better time of it this coming year.

You have no idea how pissed off I am about the whole deal. For many years both CRA and SCRA had started out their season when the Copper Classic was ran in Feb. In fact SCRA started running both Friday and Saturday night show's that weekend, with big crowds both nights! USAC not only messed up the classic but with help undermined SCRA as well. The number of races, car counts and the fan attendance has steadily went down hill over here from the get go after USAC stayed, not just since gas etc has went up. I like the Copper on dirt, so don't get me wrong about that, but 2 races over here next year and one of them is Manzanitas race, not USAC's.That's the Western World. USAC may be running the show right now, but history shows that the Western can and has done very well without them, thank you..LOL Only two 410 show's at Manzy is not a good thing for 410 racing Rob.

The 410 non wing sprints lose, the fans lose, in both AZ and Cali, and the racers lose big time. If you don't think that running Manzy's big 1/2 isn't something many driver's look forward to, both the young one's and the veterans, many of whom are still looking for there first win there, just ask around.

So what have we lost, the 50+ year rivalry between us and them, USAC? The Cali boy's VS the AZ, and N.M. drivers, that brought excitement to the stands as well as raising the level of competition and talent? I can think of a lot more (stop me please..LOL) that has been lost in the recent past. I can still remember, and others can as well, when no excuses were made after USAC left town, none were needed.

USAC CRA has 27 races ( so far ) booked for the 2009 season. Looks like 12 at Perris, 5 at Manzanita, 2 at Castistoga, 2 at Santa Maria and 1 each at Las Vegas, Hanford, Tulare, Petaluma. Also look for Knoxville and Oskaloosa, Iowa for the big money races. 4 races in February, 1 in March, 2 in April, 3 in May, 2 in June, 1 in July, 3 in August, 4 in September, 1 in October and 6 in November. If you add one more in March, July and October you will have a 30 race schedule.

Manzy doesn't have it's schedule up yet, but I hope they have at least three regular season races between the Copper and the Western.

Oh, those shows are two nights, 4 races if you want to look at it that way. That would mean only one race in the regular season? Yep, lot's of question Trip.

That's right....why not??

No Ventura and no Victorville? Not good. Petaluma (Friday) as an add for the two nights at Calistoga? Lots of questions.

I remember that guy..LOL If you look back at his post's he even starts one with, "rumor has it" and he also has a hard time with humor. Here is one of his Quotes from Sept. Then one from Oct.. That boy sure has a short memory..Sept 7th.... "Rumors has it that the next show at Ventura will be without qualifying. I hope USAC tell Ventura, no qualifying NO RACE."

Posted By: owracefan on October 21 2008 at 11:39:14 AM

tripcrwn and bigfish, you guys are both wrong Sammy was not suspended, so no lifting is needed. Both you guys just love to start rumors. Get a life.

The quote above was way wrong..LOL We were joking, and it was just as plain as day.
