Turned over to the Speed report and they made a mention that Advance Auto Parts will not be back next year with the Outlaws. I find that interesting in relation to what the ASCS has in store for next year.

That's too bad for WoO . Advance built all those stores here in OKC area and I have yet to step in one..,,

Is there really room in the market for all the different chains of parts stores ???

I worked for NAPA years ago & being on both sides of the counter, I can't see how they have made it this long, really .

We either got our butt kicked on price or stuff was on back order, for awhile I thought NAPA stood for "No Auto Parts Available"

That was back in the old days befor anybody ever heard of O'Reilly's or the Zone

I am thankful for O'Reilly's both as a race fan and as an owner of several vehicles.

Speeking of parts. I need to sell all out of all stock in our little store. All AC Delco stock will go for what we paid for it as long as it's on our shelf. That's no mark up on price. Lots of starters and alternators. Many many switches for mostly 90s vehicles. All are new in the box.We also have some new Delco water pumps, brake pads, and tune up parts. If your interested call me, Dale @ West 9th Auto in Edmond. 341-0866. Those afformentioned discount stores put us out of the market a long time ago and I finally talked the old man into gettin out of parts sales.

I am sure the WoO was sorry to lose that sponsorship, but the series ran for several years with no sponosor so I doubt if it's any sort of death knell. I also doubt if the deal was super lucrative. It wouldn't surprise me if they locate another. They have a lot of dates and cover a lot of the map. It is a good reminder though that we need to support those who support the thing we like.

my support is limited.

i dotn want them to fail. but i would much rather support a series i actually see - that runs many a race in my state or surrounding states. than a fledgling series that struggles to race more than 4 times south of the Mason-Dixon line. it seems more and more. that the WoO has the north. and ASCS has the south. now ascs has an edge over the outlaws nationwide because of REGIONS. the outlaws criss corss the country almost aimlessly - their schedule doesnt make much sense imho. and the 410's are in much more dire straights than the 360's. although i think the 360's will eventually be in a predicament themselves - maybe a decade or 2 from now.

WoO only survives because of 410 hotspots. ascs has created sprint car racing for many places. there is a long list of factors that lead me to believe ascs is more of a true national sanction than any other series. but mainly its because of the regions. they take their sprint car racing to MANY tracks that would otherwise not see it at all. One # I would love to see. is how many people nationwide saw at least 1 WoO event? - versus how many people saw at least 1 ASCS-sanctioned event? i bet the #'s would be TRULY STAGGERING in ascs favor...

what does ASCS have right now that the World of Outlaws do not?
A title sponsor and a TV package..........
