While I think maybe my family would qualify, this deal is not for me but for those of either Toys for Tots and/or the Salvation Army.

Are any of you from here in Anywhere, Oklahoma interested in starting a food and/or toy drive for this upcoming Holiday Season?

I would like to see about ten people buy and donate a turkey and the rest of us bring at least five cans of vegetables (corn, green beans, carrots or whatever) to give to the Salvation Army the week of Thanksgiving. This site has over 1000 hits a day and there is no reason as to why we can't overwhelm them with food.

With you people who generate over 1000 hits a day, there is no reason as to why we can't have over 100 toys bought for the kids in need for Toys for Tots or some other young kid organization to help them for Christmas.

Is there families that you know that may need help for Christmas or do you have any other ideas to help give this Holiday season? We as a racing community need to do our part to help out and give to those who may have visited a track one Friday and Saturday night. Times are tough (that is another topic that has been beat to death) and there are those who need help. My sucker is the kids and if I had my wish, all young kids need to have Santa Claus come for Christmas. We who donate could all meet one night and deliver this as a racing community.

Thoughts?

hey man i'm more than down to help out on this very honorable and generous idea.

I could raise/get some -or maybe even a lot- of both food and toys. i think this would be something cool for everyone to take part in - to really be serious about as well. do what you can do - but also try to get others to do the same.

thats an excellent thought david. i think we should ALL do it. and i really like the idea about meeting up and deliviring it one evening as well.

so i'll see what all i and my family can do and wait for more info on here. anyone else up to doing some good deeds?

Let me know what we can do. Always ready to help, plus any press for the race track helping out is good press right? Used to do some pretty big things at the track for injured drivers etc. ben Bucklin used to do big things for Jerrys kids. Someone get Ben involved, & lets bombard Scott Munn with it & get something going.

Just some ideas, but I'm in, Jim.

Count this family in! We will help with donations of food / toys / time whatever you need. Just keep us updated on when and where to send it. We will be in Norman on Nov. 22nd & 23rd for cheerleading and wrestling competitions so maybe we can bring it then and leave it with whoever?

Very Good Idea David! As you know the Wolfe Family is always ready to help the kids or the needy! Just let us know, where, when and we will be there!

David,

I work for D.R. Horton Homes and I am doing research for a toy and food drive myself. We are going to offer that people can drop off toys and food at any of our models and will we will donate the items collected. We have contacted numerous groups that need help. But would love to help others that you may know about. We are also going to advertise to help get the word out.

I would love to join forces to help as many people as we can!

I am going on vacation next week (much needed!). But, when I return I will contact you and we can discuss details!

Holly Williams
