ok since i can't cut and paste i will give you a nut shell.
they are not sure they will be back on tour with the WOO in 09. he briefly mentioned some of their calls they have made this year. which we all know about
he mention they MIGHT look at going home to Knoxville. they MIGHT look at the new ASCS deal.
and he mentioned how the teams get paid when the stands are packed. if you want to read it yourself go to in "terry"gation on his website.

i find it odd that a team that is one of if not the most consistent on the WOO tour right now isn't happy with things. what about the other guys? i'm not trying to start anything. i just thought for sure the 24 would be back with the WOO in 09 since they are running in the top 5 EVERY night.
the WOO has a lot of work to do in the off season.

All big series have all depleted Knoxville of Stars for years, sort of nice having a few of them come back to where they belong!
Welcome back any of the former drivers!

I bet running in the top 5 every night doesn't even come close to paying the bills to be out there.

It is my opinion that many teams will be making tough business decisions for the 2009 season. The Outlwas illogical crisscrossing of the USA and Canada, makes a lot of people scratch their heads and wonder if it is worth it. Sponsorship dollars are drying up quickly, as businesses look for the most bang for their buck and some are stopping their support of racing altogether. I think a reasonable person would look very hard at how many times they could race and how much money they could make close to home. With the rumor out that Knoxville is going to raise the Saturday night purse and looking at the number of races that are located in the Midwest, including the IRA and the 360 options, such as the Sprint Invaders, it makes good business sense to stay close to home. I personally feel the "luster" of the World of Outlaw trail is becoming almost unobtainable for many teams.
I wish Terry and his team the best of luck in 2009. I am confident that whatever he decides to do, it will be a sound business decision based on the facts of the economy and the realities that are facing each of us.

I'm sure teams and owners do not have too short of memory to realise the money lost the first three months of this year's WoO season. Criss-crossing the great 48 to get rained out and not paid any tow money took it's toll on all teams, even the pavement backed ones. Now, the WoO is talking even lowering the tow money, as fuel and other travelling costs have increased 25% since they decided to pay the $750. And remember, if you don't race, you don't get paid.
Like Terry said in his response, they have the financial backing. But, good business sense tells you that is too much of a risk. Not saying that racing is supposed to make you money. Like the old saying goes: you can make a small fortune in racing, if you're willing to spend a big one first.
As far as the 360 deal goes, I don't think that's the answer either. If Knoxville does what they're rumoured to do, you can make more money running weekly 410's there than going on the road with any 360 series. Motors are the same, yes the same, price, cars are the same, and like Wayne Johnson says: "When you swipe your fuel card at the truck stop, does it ask if you're hauling a 360 or a 410?"
Every team has a different agenda and approach. It'll be interesting to see where our existing teams decide to run during this off-season.

according to this website - its a top 9 team...with 1 win...and 8 top 5 finishes.
80 races on the calendar - many rain outs - criss corssing the country - expenses surely outweigh the winnings listed on the website for MANY if not ALL of the teams.

If the team can build a brand now shop in Windom, MN they can stay with the Outlaws and obviously plan to make their race team stronger.

The WoO was fairly crowded this year. Not surprising to see some drop off. At the same time, there will be a few new ones in '09. It's a natural evolution.

With the stock market the way it is and WRG operating at such big losses every year I wonder how they (WoO) can keep going. Who would be crazy enough to invest in this company now? Not trying to start trouble as I am a big supporter of the WoO but at some point this deal has got to bleed out.

If you think the 410 count was good in 08 -09 should proveto be alittle better with the increase in weekly purses an what the nationals will promote. Better payoff on friday nights program to start.Along with the ASCS tour adding into the mix as well for those whom still would like to travel.
