She was TOTALLY outclassed, she did not give any specifics on anything, she could only speak the McCain "talking points". Everything she said, sounded like a speech. Why wouldn't she answer some of the questions that were directly asked by the moderator? It's because she HAD no answer. Biden on the other hand showed the world just how much he knows about foreign affairs, taking Palin to school in the process. Palin didn't even know the CORRECT name of the General in Afghanistan and mispronounced his name at least 3 times.
The slide in the polls will continue...
|
She held herself in front of the audience and TV viewers, I will grant her that much. As for answering questions without "gosh, golly, darn and shucks" humor and charm... nothing from her. Winks and smiles are great but they dont bring anything to a debate of this level other than appealing to the lower levels of our intellectual society. No doubt about it... the Republicans are doomed this election. Just today the McCain campaign announced the end of campaigning in Michigan due to very little chance of victory in the state... seems even they are coming to terms with defeat.
Cheers!

The numbers do not lie and there is nothing that Palin or Biden that will change those numbers. On top of that, McCain has two bullets left, he's already shot himself in the foot once, he will shoot himself in the other foot on Tuesday night. The big question is where will that third bullet go???

so this is your way of saying the bimbo beat the bubble head?
Biden knows his foreigh policy alright...but he does NOT CONNECT with REGULAR FOLKS and never has made that connection in his entire career. But ole Biden needs to polish up on his MEMORY because as he is making forceful arguments that appear to be believable, he needs to get his facts straight because he was LYING about the "boy club" senate votes that he "remembers so well".
move evidence that people in office for long periods of time cover for each other so much that eventually they start to belive their own bullshit.
at this point, Obama needs to follwo his wofe's orders and keep Biden and seal the victory for the GOP!
Palin haters...have a nice day, and thanks for playing along at home!

Yeah and the old fart that's running for president is a "maverick" HA HA HA! He's in the "good ole boy's" network as well just like Biden. If you believe otherwise your just plain foolish. The only two that aren't part of the "old school" network are......Obama and Palin. The Repubs. had their time in the Oval office and now it will be the Dem's. which IMO means more of the same bullshit!! WE NEED a third party that can actually be given a chance against these two parties that cater to the whores(lobbyist).
Trophy Cup......Best race of the year hands down!

PALIN: Said ofDemocratic presidential candidate Barack Obama: "94 times he voted to increase taxes or not support a tax reduction."
THE FACTS: The dubious count includes repetitive votes as well as votes to cut taxes for the middle class while raising them on the rich. An analysis byfactcheck.orgfound that 23 of the votes were for measures that would have produced no tax increase at all, seven were in favor of measures that would have lowered taxes for many, 11 would have increased taxes on only those making more than $1 million a year.
PALIN: Claimed she has taken on the oil industry as Alaska governor.
THE FACTS: Palin pushed to impose a windfall profits taxon oil companies and distributed the proceeds to the state's citizens to offset rising energy costs. However, she has also sided with the industry on a number of issues. She sued the Interior Department over its designation of polar bears as an endangered species. That puts her on the same side as theAmerican Petroleum Institute, the oil industry's chief trade association. She also supports the industry's desire to drill in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge — a position at odds with McCain.
PALIN: Said the United States has reduced its troop level in Iraq to a number below where it was when the troop increase began in early 2007.
THE FACTS: Not correct. The Pentagon says there are currently 152,000 U.S. troops in Iraq, about 17,000 more than there were before the 2007 military buildup began.
PALIN: SaidAlaskais "building a nearly $40 billionnatural gas pipeline, which is North America's largest and most expensive infrastructure project ever to flow those sources of energy into hungry markets."
THE FACTS: Not quite. Construction is at least six years away. So far the state has only awarded a license to Trans Canada Corp., that comes with $500 million inseed moneyin exchange for commitments toward a lengthy and costly process to getting a federal certificate. At anAugust news conferenceafter thestate Legislatureapproved the license, Palin said, "It's not a done deal."
PALIN: "Barack Obamaeven supported increasing taxes as late as last year for those families making only $42,000 a year."
BIDEN: "The charge is absolutely not true. Barack Obama did not vote to raise taxes. The vote she's referring to,John McCainvoted the exact same way."
THE FACTS: The vote was on a nonbindingbudget resolutionthat assumed that President Bush's tax cuts would expire, as scheduled, in 2011. If that actually happened, it could mean higher taxes for people making as little as about $42,000. But Obama is proposing tax increases only on the wealthy, and would cut taxes for most others. In the March 14 budget resolution supported by Obama and Biden, McCain actually did not vote.

Forty-six percent of the uncommitted voters surveyed say Democrat Joe Biden won the debate, compared to 21 percent for Republican Sarah Palin. Thirty-three percent said it was a tie.
Eighteen percent of previously uncommitted percent say they are now committed to the Obama-Biden ticket. Ten percent say they are now committed to McCain-Palin. Seventy-one percent are still uncommitted.
Both candidates improved their overall image tonight. Fifty-three percent of those surveyed say they now have a better impression of Biden. Five percent say they have a worse opinion of the Delaware senator, while 42 percent say they debate did not change their opinion.
Fifty-five percent say they now have a better opinion of Palin. Fourteen percent say they have a worse opinion, while 30 percent say their opinion hasn't changed.
After the debate, 66 percent see Palin as knowledgeable about important issues – up from 43 percent before the debate. But Biden still has the advantage on this – 98 percent saw him as knowledgeable after the debate. That figure was 79 percent before the debate.
Uncommitted voters’ views of Palin’s preparedness for the job of vice president also improved as a result of her debate performance - but they are still nowhere near the percentage that thinks Biden is prepared.
Fifty-five percent say Palin is prepared for the job, up from 39 percent before the debate. Ninty-seven percent say Biden is prepared, up from 81 percent pre-debate.
Although Palin made some gains on the question of whether she could serve as president if needed, she rose just 9 points on that measure. Now 44 percent say the Alaska governor could be an effective president. Ninety-one percent said Biden could be effective as president, up from 66 percent before the debate.

I was floored when she said that crap. That is exactly the type of illegal shenanigans that Cheney has been pulling for the past 2 terms. It is wellllll reported how Cheney feels the executive branch should be all powerful... why bother with elections then? Why not appoint our next ruler? Screw Congress, screw the Senate... thats how Cheney would like it. Shameful unAmerican ideas from Cheney and now parrot mouthed by Palin.
Cheers!
