I had a great time there, got to speak to some of the real legends of sprint car and midget racing, Tom Bigelow, Charlie Masters, Dave Wier, SuperDuke, Larry Rice, Mutt Anderson , Jim Hines, Mel Kenyon, Paul Fortney, Jim Simon and many others. Anyone who missed it this year, should try for next. It was a fantastic turnout.

65 vintage cars showed up at Winchester! A big turnout of great looking cars attended the first vintage meet to be held at the Winchester high banks in several years. Also in attendance were many of the great high bank drivers, from the past, including Charlie Masters and, my ol' Armstrong Mould team mates, Tom Bigelow and Greg Leffler.

After being promised an unspecified amount of track time, the organizers far exceeded my expectations by arranging two 20/25 minute "on track" sessions. Our three cars cars came to run, so we took full advantage of the track time with the Bob Dicks team cars being driven by Bob Dicks in the 1963 Agajanian #98 Watson roadster and Randall Cook at the wheel of the 1962 #1 Fike Plumbing Spl. sprint car. mac miller, "hisself", was wheeling the new Carl Schulz owned, 1927 Miller #15 Boyle Valve Spl. in its final shakedown. Whirling the high banks in a 20s style car, no roll cage, no roll bar and 4" wide tires, truely, is a sweet ride.

This was an historic occasion for us because this is the only time that these three mac miller built cars will ever be together at the same event.

With attending the Jungle Park event on Saturday and the Winchester event on Sunday, it was a very busy weekend.

Thanks to, track owner, Charlie Shaw and, meet organizer, Gene Ingram for, what I think was the best Winchester Oldtimers meet that I have ever attended.

Click on the image icon, it is the on the top row of the icons. It is the 3rd icon from the right and it kind of looks like a mountain with the sun over it. When you click on it another window (I guess it is called a file browser window) will come up where you will click on upload file and you will upload your photos from your computer or cd. You will have to locate your photos whether it be in your file on your computer titled my documents or my pictures or whether it be on a cd in your cd drive. Then you just insert photo in the reply box. Your photos will stay on file if you ever want to use them again on any of the HoseHead Forums like this one.

Going ahead and practice doing it. You can delete it if it don't work or just keep editing it till you get the hang of it.

Thanks! The format I was using wouldn't allow me to see the icons so I switched to a different format.

I have to post one more picture from Winchester because it is so cool. I borrowed this photo from Gene Ingram. This is an awesome view!

There are 8 cars in this view of just one corner. I'm sure we had close to 30 cars on the track during this session!

The real car(Old Calhoun) is in the Indy Museum. This car is a recreation. Also the sprinter (Fike Plumbing Special) is a recreation since the original Fike car is in Australia restored as a car for a later driver.

Here are a couple of pix of the Fike in its later life. The top is the car, as raced by Johnny Anderson, in Northern Cal, in the late 60s. The second pic is the car as raced in Australia, in the early 70s, driven by Gary Rush.

The car is currently owned by Bob Blacklaw in Australia.

Here is a great photo, taken by Phil Rider, of two of my cars "on track" at Winchester. These are two of Parnelli Jones most successful "rides" and, in real life, were never at the same place at the same time.

Owner of both cars, Dr. Robert Dicks, is driving the 1963 Indy 500 winning #98 Agajanian/Willard Battery Spl. Watson roadster replica and Randall Cook is at the wheel of the three time USAC championship winning #1 Fike Plumbing Spl. sprint car replica.
