The 2nd annual Short Track Shootout was to take place immediately following the Short Track Nationals feature event, pending the event receiving a title sponsor.

Although several interested parties have contacted the event administrator, at this time, no one has formally committed to it.

There is $2,000 in purse money from I-30 and Cowtown already collected for the '08 Shootout, but it will not take place in '08 unless a title sponsor is secured. For sponsorship inquiries, please email Darin at [email protected] prior to October 10.

The Short Track Shootout is a points event in the form of a race that combines the top 6 overall point getters from the Cowtown Sprint Nationals October 10-11 and the Short Track Nationals on October 23-25. The goal of the program is to reward sprint teams that support both events by offering them a shot at extra money to help offset their expenses. Only drivers attending both events are eligible to receive points for the Shootout.

Sponsors: there are no administrative fees, and 100% of your sponsorship money goes directly to the race purse. Also includes display space at both tracks and pit passes for both weekends at NO ADDED CHARGE! And the event will be renamed to the sponsors name with the word 'Shootout' to follow. All public relations work, including press releases, points tabulation and a web page will all be provided to the sponsor.

Our goal is a minimum of a $4,000 cash sponsor, and long-term exclusive rights to the promotion are available.

Here's what the purse would be with a $4,000 sponsor: $2000, $1200, $1000, $700, $600, $500. If we are able to secure a larger amount, then more cars will be added along with the additional money added to the event purse.

If you are aware of anyone that you think would be a 'fit' for this effective and rewarding promotion, please have them contact Darin at dssm93@msn.com immediately.

For more information on the Short Track Shootout, details are at: www.darinshort.com/shootout.html from the 2007 promotion. Thank you for your consideration.

We need a title sponsor, too. I figured since it was already brought up in the post above - why not have a look here as well? Sorry to hi-jack the thread, but I thought I would join you in your quest for $$$.

I would rather see the STN run all cars all nights and use a $4,000 bonus point fund for thier own top point getters, and then on first 2 nights giv the top three option of locking in for sat or going for the point bonus

This is a 2-track promo not just an STN promo. We are rewarding drivers from both the the DFW area race and the Little Rock race. Several drivers last year and this year have come up to me and said they really appreciated the promo and looked forward to this year's event.

I'm getting closer on a new sponsor, a potential called me for more info...they're calling me back yet this week with an answer.

As we've already discussed, it's unlikely that the STN will ever go back to the 3-days of full-field format. The STN already has more sprint races in 3-days than any other in the country as it is right now (last year there were 42), so adding more is not likely...and for a $45 3-day ticket, it's hard to beat that deal.

(edited for spelling...)
