JONES AIMS FOR 3RD STRAIGHT AT THE PAS SATURDAY
SEPTEMBER 22, 2008 --- No driver has been able to win three straight Lucas Oil USAC/CRA Sprint races this year but Tony Jones of Norco, Calif. can take down three in a row at Perris (Calif.) Auto Speedway with a victory this Saturday. Jones won at Perris August 23 and September 13.
Jones, the defending series champion, is seventh in this year’s points, having skipped numerous races early in the campaign.
Saturday is “Fan Appreciation Day” at The Pas and a 30-lap feature is on tap.
Mike Spencer is the current Lucas Oil USAC/CRA point leader, 120 ahead of Blake Miller. Spencer hasn’t won since a March victory at Perris and Miller hasn’t won since a February win at Las Vegas, Nev. Spencer has posted nine “podium” finishes this season while Miller has four.
