This Saturday night on Sept. 20th @ Oklahoma Sports Park in Ada Oklahoma, the OCRS sprint car series will be running the 2nd annual Oklahoma State Championship for winged sprint cars. This event was rescheduled from the rain-out date of 9/13/08. A strong contingent of competitors from around the area are expected to compete for the Oklahoma sprint car championship
Tulsa Oklahoma's 2 time defending series champion and 2007 State Champion, Mike Goodman, along with current OCRS points leader Jamie Passmore from Rose, Oklahoma will be in town to do battle on the 3/8's mile high banked dirt track along with Matt Sherrell who currently sits third in OCRS points. Tulsa's Kenneth Walker and Danny Smith from Sand springs have won main events on the OCRS circuit this year will take on Goodman and Passmore for the state title. Competitors expected from the Oklahoma City area include Lloyd Clevenger, Brian Bishop and Dustin Buntin. As of this posting additional drivers from the OKC market are expected to provide their entries for the Oklahoma State Championship event.
Racing starts at 8pm with drivers meeting at 6:30 pm. The track is located 10 miles northwest of Ada on highway 3 west.

There have been 4 different winners in the last 4 races. This has been one of the most competitive years in the OCRS series. Matt Sherrell sits in second place in the point standings sandwiched between Jamie Passmore and Mike Goodman. Both Passmore and Goodman have 4 main event wins while Sherrell is looking for his first checkered flag of 2008. Sherrell is as smooth as he is fast and his consistency is what has him second in points. This should be a really great event!
