All the details aren't completely ready yet but I think I can say this much...

Monticello Speedway in southeast Arkansas and Fast Trax Speedway in northeast Louisiana are going to start working together on some things this year and it begins with their Open Wheel Modified shows in 2007.

Smile

First,

Monticello Speedway will hold it's second annual Modified Madness on April 6th & 7th. It will pay $2000 to win and probably $400 to start with increased B main money this year. Details on B-main money, A-main start money, entry fee and pre-entry date are still being worked out but the total purse for Modifieds will be around $18,000!

Fast Trax will delay it's season opener until April 14th!

Then on May 12th, Fast Trax will hold the Doug Murphrey Memorial Race with a big Open Wheel Modified special on that night. Purse details TBA but Monticello will give their Modifieds the night off on May 12th in support of that show.

Then on September 8th, Monticello will have Modified Mania II. Fast Trax will give their Modifieds the night off on September 8th. There will most likely be a slight change to the schedule posted for MM II and it will probably be a one-day show for less purse with high school football happening by then and all but....

There will be one more good weekend for all the Open Wheel Modified big guns in range of the Ark-La-Miss, Ark-La-Tex, Midsouth, Gulf Coast & Midwest that's not on the schedule yet involving both tracks working together again.

I can't say anything more but you Modified racers and fans may want to keep July 27th & 28th open on your calanders.... wink
