Friend and IRA part-timer, Mike Kertscher sustained a broken arm and a bunch of minor injuries in a wreck and tangle in turn 1 with the wall and another competitor last night at Dodge County Fairgrounds Speedway in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin in IRA competition.
2003 IRA Rookie of the Year, raced IRA events for a few full seasons after that-only been running events closer to the home base in the past two seasons now and had just come off a win at Wilmot and runner-up at Charter in the last two IRA shows.
They were not gonna hit all the final 6 shows anyway, but the team was looking forward to some good runs at tracks Mike really enjoys and has won the likes of Dodge County and Plymouth.
The car/team is likely done for the season, I'll check with Mike if he wants some info posted for other fans to send him well wishes.
Talked to him earlier and he is more mad than hurt, he'll be alright though.
Was not a good night for a bunch of competitors in both IRA and USAC-lots of torn up racecars in some really awful wrecks-I hope and think Brad Loyett is good after his quick trip to the sheet place for a check-up too after his nasty series of pounding slams.

Biggy you obivousioly don't know Mike. He is one of the niceset people I know. I can tell you don't drive a car your self or you would keep such stupid comments to your self. Wishing harm to any driver is uncalled for. I was injered in the same kind of accident two weeks ago and can understand what Mike is going through. He called me in the hospital on his way to the race the night he was hurt to see how I was doing that is the kind of guy Mike is you should get to know someone before you bash them on-line.
Mike get well soon buddy hope to get out to see you as soon as I can get around.

I do not wish harm to any drivers & never wan't to see anybody crash or get hurt, lets make that clear! I was just stating he has crashed several other drivers this year inntentional or not & this time was his own fault as well.

Jeez, by your way of thinking I hope I never have a bad day at work. My co-workers would probably wish that I broke a leg for messing up a rate on a covered hopper full of corn.
