All fantasy players read this. as well as anyone interested in playin in something fun and easy. been playing with ideas on how to have a postseason for the Open League. think I came up with one. bear with me. 32 teams minimum. 4 divisions of 8 teams. 2 rounds. it begins championship weekend (august 29th and 31st) - after that - the top 2 from each division will go to the championship division for winter nationals. there will also be 3 consolation brackets. one for teams that finish 3-4 after championship weekend. then one for 5-6. and another for 7-8. that way after the final round (winter nationals) - everyone will have an actual finish position.

as for the remaining details. it will be scored by pts. only no head to head matchups. so whoever has the lowest pt. total of their division after next weekends races - will win that division and go to the division that will decide the overall champ. i think that kind of covers how we doin it.

IMPORTANT. this is the postseason for the open league. and just as the open league is OPEN to anyone - so is this. this Shootout will take the place of the open league for next weekend's final points races at SFS as well as winter nationals. this is also the only fantasy thing that will be going on for the SFS Winter Nationals. so if you want to play that weekend - you need to be in this. there can be more than 32 teams - but there does need to be at least 32. hopefully we wont have any probs with that. i do hope the official league shows up in force for this too. and maybe even a few new players. up to this point -- we have of course the 16 official league teams. but also have around 20 folks who have played in the open. i think its like 36 or 37 folks who have played in the Fantasy League. this Shootout is cool in the sense that - yeah anyone can play - its a competitive format and can pit the open league players vs. the official fellas. as well as anyone else who wants to play. as for how to pick next weekends picks - there will be 2 - TWO - threads for each league. next weekend is also the official league's postseason. there will be a thread for friday picks ------ and a thread for sunday picks - for both the official league postseason - and the The Shootout. when the threads are opened after this friday - to be safe you can go ahead and put picks for both races. the friday thread will be CLOSED after 730pm friday. the sunday thread closed after 730pm Sunday........by closed i mean - no player can edit their picks after that. that way it remains fair.

there are certain folks i'm already gonna enter in the The Shootout. the remaining spots will be up for grabs and to enter - just say so in this thread along with a team name. the sooner you enter the better - and I would greatly appreciate it...........so that I'm not goin like a chicken with its head cut off tryin to find people to fill the field next friday. and again to remind ----- this begins NEXT weekend - August 29th-31st. thats the qualifier so to speak ------- with the final round being winter nationals. and also - for those who want to play and are NOT in the list below ------ ENTER YOUR TEAM - HERE IN THIS THREAD. those entered here are Open League regs who I'm fairly sure will play. again if you are not in the list below and want to play - enter you team here in this thread.

so I entered most those who play the Open League frequently. if any of those I have already entered dont want to play - just post so. there are 5 openings - and again if any of ya'll on that list above dont want to play - - - its cool just say so. and anyone who wants to play - rock on. just enter in this thread with the team name you want to go by. yeah I put it down so families and friends could at least play together the 1st round/weekend of it (the 29th and 31st). if there is anyone who would like to be in a different division just let me know..........if i can do it I surely will.

guess thats about it. i just wanted the open league to have a postseason too. ya'll kept playing throughout the year with damn near no breaks. i appreciate everyone staying with both leagues the way they have. and wanted the open league to have something cool too. but for the 5th time--------- anyone and everyone is welcome to play this. Official league folks. new folks. its all good. everyone is welcome in the Open League Shootout...............

o yeah - remember ------- this starts NEXT week ------- championship weekend august 29th and 31st. and the finale for it will be the SFS winter nationals. and as of now - it is the only fantasy league thing goin on for the Winter Nationals. there will also be a big open league recap after this weekends race. its been ready for awhile as wescoe knows ---- but figured to do it once we figured what we was doin for postseason.

thank you again to everyone for playing in the league this year - and who will play in this.......and put a lifejacket on for the flood of recaps coming over the weekend for BOTH leagues.

thanks skeesiks for puttin one in - I put you in Division 1 along with the Airflow fellas. trying to split official leaguers in even amounts in the divisions - so some people mught see their team gettin moved around a bit. everyone talk to folks you know too - anyone can play. and you can put their picks on for em too ------- they dont have to register and everything. my 9 year old nephew drifters ----- gettin better with a comp - but not quite up to being able to navigate the net - which is prob actually a good thing ! lol. but yeah anyone who wants to play in this is more than welcome. i hope more or maybe even all the offficial leaguers play too. like i said --------- we can have more than 32. i can make slight adjustements if there are more than 32. just need at least 32.............if we get over 32. then 36 or 40 would be what we need to end up with.
