So it seems like Gary Wright has Mark Martinitis. Either retire or don't. At least Gary didn't sell a bunch of crap to his fans for his "farewell tour".

yeah kinda the same with Micheal Jordan as well. He didn't sell a whole bunch of farewell crap tho either. Thats kinda crappy of Mark Martin. But Martin was my papa's favorite and he would take offense to me downing Mark Martin. Suffice it to say.....that's pretty screwed up. Isn't it false advertising?
How much would could a wouldchuck chuck if a

I can see both sides here. Its annoying as a fan when somebody says that they're retiring and then they don't or they come back shortly after. Its especially bad when they make a big deal about it. However, I think that we have to remember that a lot times these guys love and have a real passion for what they do and as we all know its hard to give up something that you truly love. Sometimes it maybe all about the money and the attention... but I also think sometimes it comes down to just having a true passion for what they do. Just my $0.02 on the subject.

Gary was going to retire due to lack of sponsorship. He said upfront that he would race if someone had a high quality ride for him. Instead he found a new sponsor, so he's racing again.

Don't knock on my Gary "Dream Weaver" Wright. Bill, you know better than to put him in the same catagory as Mark "cry me a river" Martin.

Good for Gary. I like him. He's a good guy.
I have always been a Mark Martin fan going back to the Stroh's Light
sponsorship days and still think he's a class act despite Jack
Roush. The whole retirement thing has kinda soured me a little
however.
Nine days and counting until I board that Southwest flight to Phoenix and my Manzanita fix.
