Event was pencilled-in not long ago as we lost our Antigo and Darlington dates. So we are running with the multitude of the weekly class stuff here at Charter and the track is gonna get so abused when this is over.

The Official stuff over at www.IRASprints.Com and www.IRASprints.Org will be posted shortly, use this only as reference-do not take seriously and do not attack those mentioned for their guffaws, come after me.

Meyer into the lead at the drop of the short-lived green as the red is out after contact with Kristan sends Symoens into the turn 3 wall and upside down. He was Ok, but the much bent frame of the car was done for the night. Meyer back into the lead on the restart using the high line out of turn 2 over Hepfner, Kristan and Tatnell. Kristan ducks to the low line through turns 1-2 and takes the second spot. Lap-5: Yellow is out after Riemann spins/stalls into the tire barrier in turn 4. He restarts. Tatnell would finally take the third spot after a race-long battle down the backstretch in the waning laps.

MPD Race Products Heat Race
1. Dave Uttech [2]; 2. John Haeni [4]; 3. Scotty Neitzel [6]; 4. Phillip Mock [1]; 5. Kim Mock [3]; 6. Russel Borland [7]; 7. Johnny Fahl [8]; DNF-Billy Balog [5].

Uttech uses the high line though turns 1-2 for the lead over Haeni as Balog jumps the cushion and gets shuffled back to 7th. Neitzel uses the low line out of turn 4 and takes the 4th spot from the senior Mock and two laps later uses the same line to take the 3rd spot from the junior Mock. Haeni was showing no signs of slowing down, but signs of smoke. Our Point Leader, Balog would duck into the infield with one-to-go. Young Mock qualifies for his 1st career IRA A Feature.

Weld Wheels Heat Race
1. Jason Johnson [2]; 2. Tommy Sexton Jr. [1]; 3. Matt Wasmund [5]; 4. Mike Reinke [6]; 5. Tim VanDerVere [3]; 6. Billy Hafemann [4]; 7. Kris Spitz [7]; DNF-Charley Osborn [8].

Johnson wins the three corner drag-race out of turn 4 for the lead over Sexton. Osborn gets crossed-up out of turn 2 and pulls into the infield early. Hafemann gets crossed-up out of turn 4 and loses track position. By mid-way the field was single file with Hafemann trying to battle back to take the 6th spot low entering turn 1 with a few laps to-go.

VMAC Racing Products Heat Race

The initial start was waved off, front row was askew. Kertscher makes it 4-4 in Heat Race winners starting in the second spot using the high line and dominated the easily on the restart. Miller nearly loses the handle out of turn 2 on the second circuit. Goeden into the 4th spot around the third lap out of turn 4. Miller mows some of the grass through turns 3-4 near half-way. Haynes drops out of the deal around lap seven donating an assured transfer spot to Egan as Young is showing signs of smoke.

Behling Racing Products B Feature (15 Laps) Top-6 transfer.

Balog into the anticipated lead over Young, Uttech, Hafemann, Mock and VanDerVere. Lap-3: Yellow is out after Riemann spins/stalls in turn 4. VanDerVere makes light work of Mock and Hafemann using the low line into turn 1 for 4th. Lap-5: Red is out after an incident with Borland upside down collecting Mock which end both their nights in turn 2. Restart: Hafemann works VanDerVere the 4th spot while Hunt is challenging Wirth for 6th. Lap-8: Yellow is out after Osborn loops it stalling in turn 4. VanDerVere around Hafemann for the 4th spot and Uttech for 3rd within a couple of laps of the restart. Lap-11: Yellow is out after Hafemann stalled and gets hauled off on the hook from turn 4. Spitz challenges Wirth for the transfer spot on the restart. Lap-12: Yellow is out after Miller spins/stalls in turn 4. Spitz and Hunt would swap the transfer spot moving Wirth to the odd-man out spot in the final laps.

Brooke Tatnell wins his 8th career IRA A Feature

Matt Wasmund [1]; Scott Uttech [13]; Tim VanDerVere [16]; Andy Hunt [22]; Phillip Mock [19]; DNF-Scotty Young [12]; DNF-Rusty Egan [17]; DNF-John Haeni [14]; DNF-Jason Johnson [8]; DNF-Kris Spitz [21]; DNF-Dave Uttech [9]; DNF-Tommy Sexton Jr. [20];
Alternate: Bill Wirth
Lap leaders: Donny Goeden 1-2, Brooke Tatnell 3-30.

Four previous classes running heats and Features have left the track to be desired. Not the best shape. Initial start to this had so many things go awry, first Kristan spins wheels in the slick at the start, Wasmund is called jumping. But, we need to get realigned anyway as D. Uttech dusts through the lower infield off turns 1-2 due to a tangle between Sexton, Hunt and Spitz. Sexton is done-off on the hook. Hunt into the work area and back out. Spitz appeared unscathed and pushed off. The restart was slowed after Haeni spins/stalls in turn 2. Goeden appeared to take a nice lead over Kristan, Tatnell and Wasmund on the restart until the yellow is out as some of the field was not quite ready. Another restart, another yellow-this one due to Mock spinning/stall in turn 4. Kertscher was able to gain a 4th position before yet another yellow on Lap-2 as D. Uttech, Egan, and Spitz tangle down low in turns 1-2. Mock busts a 720 dust devil to maintain power. Goeden is leading Kristan, Tatnell, Kertscher, Reinke, Wasmund, Neitzel, Balog and Biertzer to another restart. Lap-3: Tatnell makes quick work of Kristan and takes the lead from Goeden down the front stretch. The Red is out after Reinke initially spins in turn 2, which sends others scrambling. VanDerVere, Hepfner, Mock and D. Uttech involved in yet another issue. Young was lightly rolled onto his side when all was said and done with this deal. Officials determine a 5 minute fueling will be allowed. Three laps-in and like how many cautions? The Sexton and Crew were able to present the car to the staging area for the restart, but IRA Officials clarify the rule book and send them back trailer side. Young and his crew made the necessary repairs to get him to tag the tail with at least a couple of broken left top wing sideboard supports. Spitz was not found to make the call on the restart. Running order: Tatnell, Goeden, Kristan, Kertscher, Neitzel, Wasmund, Balog, Biertzer, S. Uttech and Meyer as the Top-10. Restart: Kertscher takes the 3rd spot as Balog moved quickly into the Top-5 within a lap or two. Lap-5: D. Uttech finally calls it a night, pulls into the infield. Lap-6: Young is racing with a totally collapsed left top wing sideboard. Lap-8: Traffic, Tatnell uses the cushion ahead of Kertscher now into the second spot. Johnson ducks off the raceway. Lap-11: Tatnell with a slight scare has he slide-jobs Hunt through turns 1-2, only to get hard tagged in the tail tank sending him slightly off course, Kertscher was just not close enough to capitalise. Lap-12: Yellow is out after Egan spins/stalls turn 2. Lap-14: Balog appeared to hit someone and fell back to around the 8th spot through the middle of turns 1-2. Lap-17: Traffic. Tatnell is running the cushion with little traffic down low, slowed slightly. Lap-19: Young finally calls it a night slowing to duck into the infield, catches S. Uttech behind him and the 3K loses some track position to the guys he was racing against. Lap-21: Egan is done for the night. Lap-22: Yellow is out after Haeni slows out of turn 2 and coasts down the backstretch into the work area, he was not to return. Tatnell leads Kertscher (Hunt), Goeden, (S. Uttech), Neitzel, Kristan, Meyer (Mock), Biertzer, Wasmund, Balog, Hepfner, Reinke and VanDerVere to the restart. Lap-23: Yellow is out after Wasmund suffers another miscue after spinning through the slick in turn 4. He would tag the tail. Lap-26: Meyer looks like he is running 5th around Kristan. Lap-27: Traffic seals the win for Tatnell as Kertscher just could not clear them fast enough using most of what was left of the track and jumping off the cushion a couple of times. Tatnell leads the season of IRA Feature wins with 3. No full time IRA driver has more than 1 win. (Travis Whitney-Scott Winters tied with 2). The rest of the Wisconsin bunch all have a single win.

Tatnell thanks his Crew-stated the budget was limited and he was thank-full for co-owners Cooley and Lewis to put this last minute team together with some sponsors to run in the US for the season and with the issues suffered, he was happy to have accomplished a few goals.

Kertscher was very pleased with the weekend, 2 races, 1 win. He is looking forward to Dodge in a couple of weeks-where he is very strong.

A modest Goeden was pleased with the run he had and thanked Tatnell for towing-in to race with us.

Next IRA Race is a Saturday gig on the 23rd of August at Rice Lake Speedway, Rice Lake, Wisconsin.
