For as sleepy-eyed as I busted this out, would be amazed if any of it came close to the IRASprints.Com and .Org stuff that comes out later today....So check with those sites for the real stories and the official finish as my take may cause irritation, swollen glands, a burning sensation and is void were prohibited.

Kertscher suffers from the forward top wing falling on the cage during his initial qualification lap and takes one at the end of the scheduled. Young suffers from mechanical issues and takes only one lap.

Lane Automotive / MPD Race Products Heat Race (8 Laps) Top-6 transfer.
1. Steve Meyer [1]; 2. Billy Hafemann [4]; 3. Scotty Neitzel [6]; 4. Scott Uttech [7]; 5. Kim Mock [2]; 6. Russel Borland [9]; 7. Andy Hunt [8]; 8. Cainen Riemann [10]. DNF-Dave Uttech [3]; DNF-Billy Balog [5].

Meyer with a good jump off the line and into a dominating lead. As the lead pack takes the opening lap, Riemann busts a 360 spin through turns 3-4. The red is soon out after Mock initially spins in turn 1, collecting D. Uttech who was sent upside down. Hunt rides the wall nearly on his side. Balog is upside down. Borland skims to a stop at the scene. D. Uttech is done for the night as Balog and his bunch repair for the B. On the restart, Hafemann and Neitzel race around S. Uttech. The field is running single-file by half-way and the remaining laps.

Weld Wheels Heat Race
1. Mike Kertscher [1]; 2. Mike Reinke [2]; 3. Billy Warren [3]; 4. Joe Symoens [4]; 5. Jason Johnson [5]; 6. Scott Biertzer [6]; 7. Kurt Davis [7]; 8. Bill Wirth [8].

Kertscher into an immediate lead. Lap-4: Yellow is out after Sexton surrenders his top-5 slowing to a stop on the backstretch and was done for the night. Biertzer spun to a stall in turn 4 on the restart. Symoens is the prime mover after the yellows taking about three positions.

VMAC Racing Products Heat
1. Brian Kristan [1]; 2. John Haeni [2]; 3. Donny Goeden [4]; 4. Todd Hepfner [3]; 5. Todd King [6]; 6. Scott Young [7]; 7. Tim VanDerVere [8]; 8. Ryan Irwin [5]; 9. Charley Osborn [9].

Kristan into the lead at the drop of the green and opens a huge advantage at the checkers. VanDerVere follows Young around Irwin out of turn 2 securing the transfer spots on the second lap as the only positions change.

Behling B Feature (12 Laps)
1. Tim VanDerVere [6]; 2. Ryan Irwin [3]; 3. Bill Wirth [5]; 4. Billy Balog [1]; 5. Charley Osborn [8]; 6. Cainen Riemann [9]; DNF-Kurt Davis [7]; DNS-Andy Hunt, DNS-Tommy Sexton, DNS-Dave Uttech.

Anyone who finished the race transferred once Davis pulls to the trailer from a quick jaunt into the work area after slowing on the backstretch on the initial lap. Balog had taken the lead over Irwin. Balog is racing around with his front wing askew and towards the end of this deal is fighting to see as it flips upon the cowl. VanDerVere had taken the lead around one-to-go as Riemann busts a 360 spin through turns 3-4 while Osborn slides to stall out of turn 4. Green-White-Checker finish finally ends this glorified heat race.

Rick Schmidt Memorial Feature (23 Laps)
1. Todd Hepfner [1] $,2,300; 2. Mike Reinke [3]; 3. Donny Goeden [2]; 4. Mike Kertscher [10]; 5. John Haeni [15]; 6. Billy Hafemann [4]; 7. Steve Meyer [8]; 8. Brian Kristan [9]; 9. Scott Young [19]; 10. Todd King [5]; 11. Billy Balog [11]; 12. Scotty Neitzel [7]; 13. Scott Uttech [17]; 14. Kim Mock [14]; 15. Tim VanDerVere [21]…

...Jason Johnson [13]; Joe Symoens [18]; Bill Wirth [20]; Charley Osborn [23]; Russel Borland [22]; Cainen Riemann [24]; DNF-Scott Biertzer [6]; DNF-Ryan Irwin [12]; DNF-Billy Warren [16].
Alternate: Not used as no-one was left with a running car.

Lap leader: Todd Hepfner 1-23.

Hepfner into the lead at the drop of the green over Reinke, Goeden, King, Hafemann, Neitzel and Meyer. Lap-2: Borland spins into the infield off turn 2 and appeared to be done until he catches a break when Biertzer spins between turns 3-4. About a seven lap green flag run allowed Hepfner to catch the tail end of the field and a couple of decent position changes as Balog and Kertscher trail Meyer in the mix outside of the Top-5. Lap-9: Red is out after Warren is on his lid after smacking on the backstretch wall. Warren was Ok, but done for the night. Kertscher gives up the 6th spot to head into the work area under the closed red. He tags the tail for the restart. Neitzel takes the 3rd spot out of turn 2 on the restart. Lap-11: Yellow is out after Borland spins to a stall tail tank into the turn 2 wall and was able to restart. Hepfner still leading Reinke, Neitzel, Goeden, Hafemann, King, Balog and Haeni to the green. Neitzel had made a challenge for the 2nd spot using the low line through turns 1-2, but never is one gonna take Reinke underneath when he powers out of turn 2 on the cushion. Balog has moved to about the 6th spot within a few laps as Irwin calls it a night with a broken rear-end ducking into the infield. Biertzer ducks in as well. Lap-18: Yellow is out after Balog ends his charge spinning into the infield off turn 4. Hepfner leads Reinke, Neitzel, Goeden, Hafemann, Meyer, Haeni, Kristan, King and Young as the top-10 to the green. Kertscher is 11th after clearing the guys from the rear and is soon into 9th. Lap-21: Yellow is out after Neitzel is slowed against the wall through turns 3-4 losing his assured podium finish. Same up front with Goeden back to 3rd, Haeni restarts 4th, Hafemann 5th, Meyer, Kristan and Kertscher will restart 8th from the tail. The Green-White-Checker restart was beneficial for Kertscher once again, as he powers into the 4th spot as Hepfner, Reinke and Goeden did not seriously challenge one another.
