I was an official at SFS for 15 years, every job from being a pit runner to track director, even flagged a few races. Yours is a very thankless job, no matter how hard you try, somebody is ALWAYS unhappy. Just hang tough, stand by your decisions, it will all work out. You have my respect already & right is right & wrong is wrong. Sometimes it's a judgement call & you may be the only person that saw what happened. Even the so called videos can be wrong. Hang in there.

I understand the judgement call and I would not take your job for nothing I did not blame you for the call I just wanted to clear my name with the video that showed the car already turned around before I got to him and I had no place to go.

It just sucks when you get black flaged for somthing you did not do.

To me- I have raced before- but the flagman at Brill gets rid of the good cars w/ his flag. He is good but he needs to not rush. I have seen 3 or 4 times he rushed. I wouldn't want his job. But I know that Brian and Perry got blacked flagged for no reason.

I recall at Fairgrounds Speedway when Jim Messmer was standing in as Flagman. I was driving the D.E. Suggs, Junk Yard Dog / Silver Bullet #3 on the quarter mile and I got in over my head. I put the right rear exactly where I thought it shouda been coming off 2. Low and behold I went over the hump on the back stretch on the start and was Black Flagged by Mr. Messmer. It pissed me off at the time.

But I, abide by his rules. He after all was in charge of the track during competition. If our current Flagman at SFS could Accidentally loose his ear plugs or drop his radio, so that he's not being told what flag he should have in his hand.

I mean for Pete's sake "the Flagman is in charge During Competition" not some @#^%&*) SCREEMING into the "MANDATORY one way RADIO"

All I have to say is GOOD JOB to the Flagman.

Good cars? Usually its the guys that cant drive the he black flags and yes he does boot the good ones too if they're driving rough also. But Brill treats everyone the same. No favorites. That's what we all want until it happens to us. Thats what everyone has been bitching about Lanny and his track and other tracks around the state. Face it guys, we're not NASCAR. We have guys who love racing out there officiating for us the best the can for little or no money and taking their time to help us do what we love to do as racers. We have guys out there trying to protect us from fire, hookin our cars up when we wreck and trying to provide a good atmosphere for racing and all we do is bitch when something dont quite go our way! This is ridiculous. Again, I will always state this as my opinion, but if you all dont like the way the track is being ran, you do have the option of not racing there. NO ONE IS FORCING YOU TO RACE HERE!!!

And for you all that think this flagman is goin to change the way he does his job, you're kidding yourselves, because he does control the race like he is suppose. But he has to watch the whole track the whole time. Not just your one car. Sometimes up to 18-20 cars at a time and if he thinks he sees something, then he has to react immediately to the situation. Is he always going to get it right? NO! But he does most of the time. DEAL WITH IT!

Sorry Monkey, not pickin you out, but i'll talk to Perry on what I saw.

I know my opinion is biased, but I think what we have at Brill is about as close as you'll ever see to a track run by the racers themselves. You've got an active racer, owning, promoting, and offficiating, along with a bunch of guys and gals who are, as Jeff stated, racers, and race fans. And I'm gonna tell you the straight up facts, there isn't one of us doing it for the money!!! (Kinda like you drivers). We all love what we do; from the guy who picks up the trash to the folks keeping score, to the guys out on the track.

Mark listens to you guys, he asks for your input and will help you if you ask. He lets you guys make most of the rules. He tries to see everything from the driver's point of view. I can't tell you how many times I've heard him tell the guys on the radio "they're just racing", or "they're just fired up, they'll settle down".

I think if everyone who has raced at Brill thought about it calmly and rationally, they'd see that overall they've been treated the same, no matter who they are, what class they run, how much or how little money they bring to the track, or who they know.
