He was at my sprint car before the races last Friday night talkin and being observant , Brian is a good announcer and is a super nice person, One thing I want to point out about Brian as well as his brother Randy, both do almost all there announcing from memory with no help from copies of names on sheets , they get a number line up for the event and that is about all , sure they miss a car or two but with no names on sheets to look at , I find that impressive , what other announcer do you know that will climb the towers on each side of the stage an annoumce a race or two from there, One other thing also might want to point out is that I believe they have a lot of promotions going on just about each and every Friday night with an energy drink promo or something else autograph night , futrue stars night , hell even remember a Long Johns Silver night sometime back and that may not let him go down and visit with drivers as much as he might like to , Obligations might prevent that with the promo's , give Brian some time like Cheese said it just takes practice and I think he is doing a hell of a job. Plus he really earns his pay at Lawton on Sat. nights but that is a whole other story as we all know.

I heard Brian flew out of the scorers booth and busted some people over the head with his mic during the royal rumble. It might be rumor (that I just started), but that's what I heard.

I agree, I too, like Brians announcing and seems to get better on the mike each time.

Brain is a really nice guy and does a great job at both tracks. And, I agree, he's much better than last years Lawton guy.

It's impressive that they can remember a lot, but honestly I've worked with the best in the business thanks to our extensive television and national radio exposure -- even the great ones are well-equipped with extensive notes. From Keith Jackson to Musburger to Nessler to Thulin to Ron Franklin to Bob Carpenter, etc., they all come with note cards and sheets loaded with great information. That approach leaves nothing to chance.

Ok, it was just a question. I wasn't knocking him. I didn't know is all.

Kenny , I see what your saying about notes but the differnce in say College Football and Auto Racing on the local level like he announces is you see about the same cars each week with a few new ones from time to time and as I have observed with his brother announcing for years around here they have a great memory and again Randy Ward could reel off sponsors of cars and drivers names with ease and give you a lot of past racing notes from previous races that have run as well as current info for that night on the particular class he was announcing and as I expect Brian will do the same with a little more time and experience. But your correct note cards and info on paper do leave nothing to chance.

Good coverage again this morning. Don't take it for granted, gang. I think there are a number of tracks that would kill for the kind of exposure the Oklahoman gives to SFS. The Oklahoman staff deserves a lot of credit, but so does the track -- obviously they are making the Oklahoman feel welcome.
