Yeah, funny guys, they are. I think I'll just stay out of any attempted beatdowns. We don't want this to turn into a Lawton-type fiasco, after all, do we? LOL! Besides, 12 always has a bunch of family sitting up in the stands by me, so I'd be way out-numbered. Think I'll just buy him a coke and let it go. I may need several cokes myself, tho, to get that horrible taste out of my mouth. LOL
That was a fun matchup, tho, Dude! Down only 1 point going into the last A, it would've been nice to see what Burns coulda done against your pick of Joe, Jr, even tho his 2nd would've been hard to top. I'm just glad he didn't win, after what he did to Cody. That was totally uncalled for. Bad move. I think he must have gone to the "FLIPPER School of Racing". You know, owned and operated by Michelle Decker and Larry Neighbors! Looked just like 'em!!
|
Well,I've been following Wood's Racing for over 23 yrs. Watched Jr. grow up into racing. I know his dad and him quite well. Sr. has always expressed good driving habits and alertness to other racers. I know many problems can occur over the years with tempers and the desire to win. This crash with Cody was not a blatent attempt to take him out. Joe Jr. did appologize for the accident. He got on the brakes to avoid the situation but the rear rotor exploded apart. There was only a small section stuck between the pads which allowed him to have a lft frt and finish the race. Things happen on the track that we as spectators do not and may never know. This is in no means an attempt at stirring up things just trying to give a few facts about the situation. HAPPY RACING ...STAY SAFE AND HEATLHY..

I hear ya', Skooter. I definitely don't think it was intentional, so maybe I shouldn't have lumped him in with the other 2, although it looked very similar and had the same results. It just looked like he sailed it down in there WAY too hard, but brake issues could explain that. Thanks for the info. That's what I like about this forum - getting inside info from family and friends besides just what I see from the stands. There's always a lot that happens behind the scenes and in the pits, etc.
Btw, I've enjoyed watching Joe, Jr the last few years. He's always fast and fun to watch. I love seeing him fly around the high side, pushing the cushion.

i agree with wes. i did not think it was intentional either. the result just sucks. i'm still a big wood fan - lol - i think he is one of the few who learns from things like last friday. i was always a fan - but the performance at the short track nationals last year made me a believer. big time. he was all over and passing guys that were 410 champs and stuff both nights he raced. he did awesome. and it was cool talkin to em after the race too.
i take it my marvin gaye rendition did not go over real well on here. damn. thats embarrasing.................

Yo, Dude! You're always on here, huh? Any time of day. You gotta be getting carpal tunnel after todays rants. lol.
Nah, I ain't even close to your status on here. I usually try to stay out of stuff, but I've been wanting to say something about those 2, and that seemed like a good time. Maybe not so much. Looked familiar, but I think they're in a 'class' of their own! HA!
I enjoy all the discussions and arguments on here, tho. As long as they stay respectful. After all, we're all in this together - for the LOVE of RACING!

Good luck, DT Cowboys!
Hey, 12! Hold down the fort this week. I gotta miss the races. ( OUCH! That hurts just to say it.) But at least both sprints aren't racing. Maybe it'll even rain this Friday. lol! j/k Careful not to get your sacks caught in a circle this week, too. And I'll be looking for the results by midnight, so get to it ASAP. Seriously, tho, thanks for doing all that work on here scoring the League and the schedule, etc. It has been a lot of fun. Keep up the good work! ( But hurry tomorrow night, OK?) lol!
