Should be an exciting series to watch, though not real physical. These two teams sure have some great weapons. I have more confidence in Detroit's ability to shut down some of the Penguins offense than I do the Penguins shutting down the Wings.

I would comment on Sprint car racing, however all it does is rain and there is nothing to say....

Let's go Wings

LET'S GO PENS! I think you are greatly under estimating the Penguins defense. Therion has really harnessed his young guns, and you have heard very little trash talk from them. He is a disciplinarian, and the whole team buys into his system, or they either sit or get traded (Colby Armstrong). It's going to be a great series. I say Pens in 6. The Penguins have only lost two games in the whole playoff so far. Detroit lost that many times just in their series with Dallas.

I prefer to watch non-winged Penguins versus wings. The winged Penguins are admittedly faster but to me they just don't look natural. Plus they dry out the surface -- which usually is already pretty slippery. Also it takes more muscle to run fast and they don't seem to run as closely together in packs as non-winged Penguins. I even know a few guys who refuse to go see winged Penguins - it's like they don't even exist. I'll admit though -- there is an added safety factor of winged Penguins because they usually don't tumble as long when they stumble as the addition of the wing - although not as nature created them - cushions their impact a bit and seems to lessen the duration of their acrobatics compared to a non-winged Penguin mishap. With that said however I'd rather go see Penguins over Walruses anytime.

Should be a good series. I give the edge to the Wings in goal, in defense, and experience. I also believe that Detroit has the capability to make it a physical series if they so choose. Special teams will be big for both teams as is usually the case. I think the Wings have the edge here also. I just hope for a good entertaining series with both teams staying healthy so there aren't any excuses when it's over. Detroit in my opinion has played a tougher playoff schedule thus far, albeit not much tougher than Pittsburgs with the exception of Dallas. I like the Wings in 6. But this is one of those match-ups that could be swept by either team, or go the distance.

I am looking forward to watching this series. The Wings have the best faceoff win percentage and the Penguins have vulnerability here. I hope it goes to seven games as I hate to see the season end...I was puuling for the Penguins in the East and always a Wing fan so it should be great to watch...

I think it's going to come down to which team plays defense better and which team gets the breaks, be it flukey goals, missed penalties, or something else. Both teams have great goalies, and strong structure.

But as a Penguin fan, the effort put forth by Detroit on Monday night was scary!

It should be fun to watch!

Both teams have goalies that are playing well NOW and that's why they are in the final, never heard the word great used in too many sentences with their names in the past.

If Pittsburgh does win this year (I got my fingers crossed) then the Cup will reside there for some time, much the same as it did for the Habs, then Islanders, then Oilers back in the 70's, 80's. They have youth and talent beyond most and are not nearly as 'soft' as the Dead Wings. Hey, 8 Swedes on your team and one penalty away from being the least penalized team in the league doesn't scream 'tough'. The Penguins are gonna have to hit hard and hit often to slow the figure skaters and their youth should be a big plus in this area.

Few will argue they were the two best teams in the league this year and I'm just happy that's who meet in the final, that doesn't happen very often in any sport these days. Get your popcorn ready, should be fun. Take It Easy....

No doubt this will be the least physical series in some time. With the new rules, obstruction, two line passes, etc., it will be nice to watch the game from a pure skating level and see what happens.

No team has ever won the cup without a Canadian captain, that's what scares me...

Go Wings!!

Pure skating, arghhhhh. This ain't the friggin' Ice Capades there Ma'am.

Actually, you're Swedish creampuffs actually have some size and aren't afraid of contact for a change which makes them the favorites methinks. Where's Inge Hammarstrom when you need him, lol. If ever a name didn't suit a player, there ya' go.

Should be a good one Mac, good luck. I'll bet you a large order of donuts from that place at Volusia, you on? Take It Easy....

It would be nice to see you there in 2009...

On paper I'd take the wings but I never bet against the East.

I wanted the Sharks to go all the way! I was born and lived in San Jose for many years and remember when the Sharks came to San Jose. I guess there is always next year Smile

Looking forward to the new Golden State King of the
West series schedule!

Winged sprintcars = the fastest and most exciting
racecars on dirt!
