Josh Wise Busy Testing COT and Racing With USAC
By Troy Hennig

CORNELIUS, NC (4-25-08) – It has been a busy few months for Michael Waltrip Racing Development Driver Josh Wise. Currently, Wise is busy testing the Car Of Tomorrow (COT) for Waltrip Racing while still finding time to compete in selected USAC events. Wise will compete in the 100-lap Silver Crown Race at the Indiana State Fairgrounds on May 23 driving for RFMS Motorsports owned by long time USAC owner Don Fike. The following night, May 24, Wise is entered to drive for legendary car owner Steve Lewis and the “9” racing TEAM ASE / Oakley / Ed Pink Toyota in the 50-lap Night Before the 500 at O’Reilly Raceway Park in Indianapolis. The former USAC Sprint Car and Midget National Driving Champion is excited about racing these prestigious events. “I am committed 100 percent to succeed in NASCAR but I also still have a strong passion for open-wheel USAC racing and will try to remain a part of that series,” said Wise.

Wise continues to test the COT with impressive results. Wise was sixth quick out of 41 drivers during a Las Vegas Speedway Nationwide test in a back up car for Waltrip Racing. Wise also excelled at Michigan International Speedway driving for Eddie Sharp in an ARCA RE/MAX Car. Last week Wise was testing the COT during a two-day test at Iowa Speedway in Newton, IA. This week Wise is headed to the famous Talladega Superspeedway with Waltrip Racing to learn as much as possible watching both the Nationwide Series and NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.

In 2007, Wise gathered seven top ten finishes in the ARCA RE/MAX Series. He also earned one ARCA RE/MAX pole award. Wise finished sixth at Las Vegas and eighth at Gateway Speedway driving in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Driving for NHRA legend Cruz Pedregon, Wise won both nights of open-wheel midget racing at Dodge City Raceway Park in Kansas and one feature at Kokomo Speedway in Indiana.

Throughout his years of racing Wise has been hired by some of the most legendary drivers and car owners in the sport. Names like Tony Stewart, AJ Foyt, Dino Tommasi Racing, Wilke Pak Racing, Steve Lewis and Cruz Pedregon have all hired Josh Wise to drive their racecars.

Coming soon will be the release of the brand new Josh Wise Racing web site. It will feature schedules, bio information and a fan message board. The direct link is www.joshwiseracing.com.

As far as legendary car owners you failed to mention Josh's First sprint car ride in Don Argo's #19.

That will come in the next few weeks. Josh and I are going to revamp his website and do an extensive "Bio" section to list everyone. Josh did mention Don Argo and we are going to talk about that car very soon. Thanks for reading. Troy Hennig
