I saw on Dirtvision.com that Lance Dewease picked up the win. Congratulations on the 1st win of the season. I knew he'd run well with the All Stars but winning in the first race of the All Star season, excluding Florida is fantastic. Hopefully he can do the same at Eldora next week against the Outlaws.

Byron Reed had them all covered until he broke. The track was extremely rough tonight but they did a helluva job getting it to the point that they could race on it.

Anyone know if Chris Andrews ran or what his plans are for 2008? Website isn't updated yet. Thanks.

That's too bad for Reed that would have been a big win for him

Yes, Chris was there. He was in the 15c. No idea what his plans are. I'm guessing that he'll run attica and fremont as a local?

...first off, congrats to Lance and crew on winning at Attica...it was a true test of a drivers skill and stamina, and a cars dependability...had the opportunity to spend a few minutes talking with Lance last night...very nice guy !...he seemed excited about his change in schedule, and looks forward to being on the road...it was also very clear by his words in victory lane that he has a lot of respect for the drivers, tracks, and fans he will be seeing this season...don't let yourself be swayed by what you might read on here, take a minute before or after the races and seek out Lance at the track, stop by and tell him you appreciate seeing him race around Ohio this year, or just say hello...you won't be disappointed you took a minute to meet a future hall-of-famer and a true class act !...
...also hats off to the entire Attica staff for even getting this race in...getting out to the track this weekend was greatly appreciated !!!...even with the tough conditions, it's always a good time, and a great race at Attica...like stated above, it is too bad Byron Reed broke...looked like a hell of a race was shaping up between him and Lance...Blaney, Wilson, and Dean Jacobs put on a great show the last part of the race for second...it was also nice to see Ed Lynch Jr, Rod George, Bob Felmlee, Jody Keegan and the likes that made the tow over from the western Pa. circuit...

Lance has always gone out of his way to thank the fans in every interview...glad Attica got the race season started and got a chance to see him in action.

I'm not trying to pick a fight here but that statement is rediculous. There were drivers leaving the race because their equipment was getting torn up. There were two flips because of the ruts. One of those flips ended the night of a guy that was very much in contention of winning the a main. Not to mention the late model that lost a wheel that went flying into the pit area and could have injured someone.
Yes, under the circumstances, the track prep crew did an amazing job. Hats off to them. But, to wish for track conditions that would be damaging to equipment and increase the overall danger to the drivers and fans is foolish.

The way I see it is if the drivers were willing to race on that then it wasn't too dangerous for them. If it would have been what they thought was too dangerous then they would have not raced. The track was fairly smooth around the top of 1-2 and 3-4 was decent with the exception of the hole entering 3 and coming off of 4 more on the straight. If this was a track with speed or size or banking like Eldora, THEN GOD NO THAT WAS WAY TOO DANGEROUS!
After seeing hard dry slick racing week after week after week. It was awesome to see some good rough heavy racing in Ohio. I would personally like to see more of it.
I want to also say that I don't like to see guys tear up things. Especially the more local guys with the way the economy of the sport is but that is part of the sport. You take that chance everytime you go out.

I wouldnt say he had them all covered considering Lance passed him for the lead on the last lap Reed ran, Would have been a great battle i bet

Byron ran him down earlier in the race very easily. The last lap that you mention was wiped out by a caution so Byron would have had an open track with an ever decreasing amount of lap cars to deal with. It's only my opinion but I think that it was Byron's race to win at that point had the car not broke.

Lance said himself that Byron would have been tough to beat. But you can't take anything at all away from Dewease. Remarkable job on an unfamiliar track.

Agreed Scoop. I'm not saying anything negative about Lance. He did an awesome job. I just think that Byron was really on his game last night minus the one mistake in traffic.
