Now keep in mind I didn't get to listen to, or see, the race; just looking through the results.
- How did Lasoski not start his heat and then get to go straight to the b-main?
- Dollansky has been right there all week, Nice job!
- Nice run from 15th for T-mac.
- Nicer run for Lance, from 11th in the B-main and 23rd in the A-main to 4th on both counts. What a week that team is having!
- Nice to see Kemenah with back to back good runs.
- Did I miss a post or somethin'? What is going on with Danny Smiths new ride? Did it fall through or what?
- Now for the biggy. Kraig Kinser, to put it mildly, is having a horrible return to the sprinters. I think he's torn up more stuff this week than paul did all last year. Hope he gets on track with his new team soon. Donny will have to keep winnin' just to keep the 20 on tour. Thats a "TIC" statement for those that are gonna fire away. Seriously, I hope he gets er goin' sooner than later.
LaTeR,
Kurt

The b and c are lined up by time trials. It doesn't matter where you finished in your heat.

I was happy to see someone that can run with Schatz. I said in a post yesterday that if Dollansky could start within a few spots or ahead of the 15 he would be my pick, but I wasn't sure I even believed myself. That said, Schatz is the obvious championship favorite.
I thouight Dewease and Layton both ran great races. Lance obviously found something last night, that team is running in the top tier nationwide right now. Layton looked like he just decided last night that he was going to run with the big boys. A couple times I cringed as people attempted slide jobs on him, but he just pinned it on the cushion and never lifted. Interesting that Layton is in Lance's old car, looks like a driver changed that has worked great for all involved.
Dissapointments so far: 9 - I really expected him to challenge last night, 20 - Obviously, 22 - Hodnett can be downright dominating in PA at times, but never seems to travel well. 19 - Stevie looks terrible, but he started last year slow and came on later in the season.
Under the Radar: 51 - Other than his AS win at N. Florida hes been quiet, but he has qualified for all 6 A-Mains run the last 10 days and he will hold the AS points lead for 2 months.

I agree with almost your entire post, except where you said Greg never seems to travel well. Greg has won WoO shows at Charlotte & Eldora (as a memeber of the Posse), he is a past winner of the Sharon Nationals, and consistently runs well when he travels. Other than that, your post is dead on. I too expected to see Joey come out of the blocks on fire this year, and although he is not running terrible, I am sure they expected more. Dollansky is probably the biggest surprise to most, as he is with a completly new team and has been fast right out of the box and looks like a legit contender. I also think another driver that is getting overlooked is Jason Meyers. He has been consistently fast in Florida and he ended last season on a tear. Watch for Jason to contend night in and night out in 2008!
Now, lets talk about Lance. My gosh is he running well! I was convinced that Dale Blaney would be a lock for the All Star championship, and he still may be (running mostly in the Midwest), but Lance has come out of the box rockin n' rollin! He has a nice lead when they get back to running in April and if he can stay consistent once the Midwest tracks dry out and get black slick (where Blaney really dominates) I think Lance could win the All Star title. This is going to be a great 410 sprint car season!

wvsprinter,
I worded that a little wrong now that I re-read it. Greg hasn't seemed to travel well with the 22 car, at least compared with some of the other PA guys. I only say that because when he is in PA, he can borderline dominate in stretches (Late April through mid-summer last year), and it doesn't seem to matter which track. I think the 25 team has run better in Florida, but it would be an upset if the 25 beat the 22 at the Grove this year(for the title)....I guess that's why I was a little dissapointed in Greg's runs, I'm sure he'll be a force in PA this year. I'm still too new to sprint car racing (not racing in general) to probably be making as many comments as I do, but I appreciate your information because I did not know about Greg's past success on the road.

No ill will on my part in pointing that out. Greg hasn't traveled as much with the #22 team as he did in the past. I have always been a Hodnett fan as he is personable and talented and that is a rare combination these days. I would have liked to see him stay in the Apple #12, but he had $80,000 upfront reasons to leave from what I heard. He was very strong anywhere he ran when he was with the Apple team, and only moderately successful since he has been with Hamilton and the #22 team (on the road).
From the looks of Florida, Fred is off to a decent start and with this being his second year in the #51 he could be extra tough once he gets back to PA. Once again, Central PA will have the best weekly racing anywhere in the US, with Knoxville a close second.

I agree completely other than the #22 is owned by the Klines. Hamilton owned the #77 and Bob Stewart owned the #12. Those two cars were basically "outlaw" level cars running in PA, they could win anywhere, any driver (w/talent, obviously). Both owners chose to leave after 06'. Greg is definitely one of the good guys from what I hear, and I wish him only the best. I just want him to show the rest of the country what he was able to show PA last year(any year)! As for Freddie, a lot of people in PA don't like him, but I wasn't around for all his winning and I admire him a ton. He's 50 years old and he makes no excuses for it....when he won a heat a few nights ago he told the reporter "well it's easy from the front, we still have a lot of work to do". I love that, at his age, he still wants to be the best and doesn't use "been there, done that" as an excuse not to be. He acts like he's never won a damn thing in his life anytime he's interviewed. Speak softly, carry a big stick....anyone that sleeps on the 51 might feel it. Well, gettin ready to watch the dash, another good night for the Posse?
