Jason Meyers would have been good as gold had he tried to keep racing the top more. he was way faster up top but he kept passing lap traffic on the bottom and letting Donny gain on him. Meyers could have easy passed most of those people up top where he was way way way faster.

What's impressive was a run from the back of the B to a transfer. Then 9 more spots in the A by Haud. That and Donny keeps winning......BORING!!!!

risin to the top? the stats alone suggest he's already there - has been for awhile.

I was sure to note who did some passing and Haud looked to be the man last night. Everybody else pretty much finshed where they started. I agree if he could qualify better he'd win more races.

Well I wasn't there but I'm pretty sure Haud didn't spin out in 3rd. He started like 8th and it was on the first lap. I'm sure they would have said something if he was in 3rd already. Also didn't he blow a motor in qualifying? Either way anytime you start 18 or 20th and come to 4th in 12 laps. Pretty damn impressive not matter how your heat went.

First row, third, or sixth row, Schatz still wins.

Two time outlaw champ with 19 wins last year + the Nationals twice + all the Aussie wins... it can't be just front row starts.

He simply out drives them. HE'S THE BEST OUT THERE. That's why Tony has him btw.

How many races has Steve Kinser won off the front row?

From www.worldofoutlaws.com/sprint

“We came out here tonight to play around and try a few things and to learn,” said Schatz after earning $7,000 for the win. “We’ll try some more things the next two nights and see what happens. We have to get used to a few of the changes this year and this was a good start.”

To get to the front row you have to do the following FIRST;

Qualify well enough to start near the front of your heat

Race well enough in your heat to get to the Dash

Finish in the top two in the dash!

Then you have to close the deal and win, something none of you likely ever have, right? Take It Easy...

Schatz is probably the best out there now, night in and night out. But with that said, he will never be no Steve Kinser. Heck, Kinser at almost 60 is still competitive. Amazing, the real question, can Donny be competitive if he is still running when he is 56 years old. I know my dads reflexes are slow and he is about the age of Steve, and there is no way I could imagine him running a sprint car. Its scary enough going straight down the freeway with him. And when Steve was winning races the competition may have been a little tougher then today.

I don't think Steve is 56 yet. I'm 56 and he's been a few years younger ever since I first started watching him race. Now I know Steve is fast but no way he's so fast that he's gonna catch up with me in the age category. Smile

How do you know these newbies could take on a 30 yr. old Steve Kinser? 50+ sure, but 30?

A 30 year old Steve Kinser would have these boys beat down into such a state of submission that they would lose before they even got out of the staging area. Those that have been around a while know this is true.

By the way, Kinser never slowed down. The rest of the world finally caught up with him.

What's impressive about racing through the B against junk then finishing 15th in the A.

Obviously WFO has never sat in a race car or for that matter ever watched a race. Are you kidding me. Junk cars or not that's not easy to do plus the fact it wasn't against junk and he was the only one moving forward in the A.

Wilson, Blaney, Paulus, Stevie Smith, Stewart, Kaeding, Hannagan, McMahan.

yea i am a donny fan, but you are right steve is the best. he may be losing some of what he had(remember i said some) what he has lost most of us wish we could have. donny and joey are coming to their prime now, and it is great to see. the kid has raced his ass off. i know alot of people bash him about having mommy and daddies money(i used to) but it is the dedication of doing the job that all of the racers do, that we the fan have to admire. years ago it was steve, sammy and wolfie. now it is donny, joey and steve. look who is still there kicken but year in and year out after all these years. who knows next week donny could fall on rotten luck and finish last for 10 races, everyone has to admit that winning is contagious the more you win the more you are driven to win. enough rambling by me. lets all enjoy the sport we love this year.
