I kinda got a kick out of the Barrett-Jackson show on Speed tonight that Robert Yates "retired" Yates (Ford) Racing prez. is according to the announcers an "avid collector of tri-5 (55 thru 57 in particular) CHEVYS !!! ...So I'm sittin there giglin a little inside and about 10 o'clock  who's mug shows up but Ray Evernham and his "driver" (wink ..wink) and what does he sink 75K of his Dodge Dealers sponsorship money into .... but a 55 Chevy 2 door H.T. with late model Corvette running gear. Not much racin in this part of the world and I don't message board anywhere but here..... so like I said ..no skin off my nose but DAMN that kinda tells ya where those 2 fella hearts must lie. And there was plenty of Fords and MOPARS accross the stage tonight and more than a few of those bad boys would get any rodder with a heart beat excited btw.  p.s. ANYTHING but Pinks   ....GAWD how I despise that show night after night month after month. It is about as "Reality T.V." as Jerry Springer.

I watched for a bit tonight, I missed Tony purcaseing that old Merc I guess, the right color always attracts a buyer , (maybe you could sell a turd if somebody out there likes brown? ) anyhow, Ray was proubly more interested in the ole shoeboxes back seat? afterall a 55 chev is pretty roomy, Smoke kinda looks like a caveman? , I guess he'll have to "clean up" in another month to keep all the napcar groupies " yappie headed *&^#'s " happy! Im sorry, JMO

Don't get me wrong, I am a Stewart fan... but he is far from being one of Gilette's "young Guns" ...and he probably doesn't care! Guess I wouldn't either... lol

As a part time bartender I get more people wanting to watch the Barret-Jackson car auction on the BIG screen TV than any Basketball game going on. I have had it on the last 3 days all day. I get so many people just sitting and watching it than some football games.

I get just as many people yelling at the TV as a football game. "WHAT!? That 63' split window only went for 70k!? " Stuff like that. Even loud arguments between people about which car should be worth more than the other. Ford or Chevy!!!

Personally if I have any rich friends out there and they see a '74 Chevy Nova tricked a little for sale. Buy it for me. I would be forever in debt. It was the car my grandma had and with the help of some greedy relatives I didn't get to keep it, when she died. Funny thing is when I was 8 I found a 'Hot Wheels Red Line Series' Chevy Nomad worth like $200. It was shoved in the back seats.

Memories, even though I am only 25. God bless the American car. These classic cars will only get worth more as the same "American" Auto dealers moves over seas. Original, Made in the midwest, American blood swaet and tears cars are a never more.

OH, AND TONY NEVER SHAVES WHY WOULD HE BE A "G" YOUNG GUN.? not that it is bad. The man is as hairy as a monkey in prehistoric times.

Why does it matter if some body like yates or evernham buys a chevy or a ford. Jus cause they own a team that runs a brand doesnt mean that they are bound to that maker as long as they fill their obligations they are good to..THEY ARE CAR GUYS jus like us all,

get balls and run the top!!!

ok so the moral of the story is? cash talks bullsh%# walks? Smoke is defintly not a young gun? or, well , has not been using his Gillette recently (so what)!

Ray, proubly gets handed enuff dough from Mopar to feed a hungry zoo , or offset legal fees from a zoo?

but, I like the fact , these people just might be human , thier proubly there (Barret Jackson )trying to enjoy themselves , and with that kinda cash , whats not to enjoy! , during the race season we see these people in thier professional enviroment ,not even close to reality, if you were to sit down at a table with them and cary a conversation , thier facinating people, and if you love racing, you'll find alot of interesting stories about thier adventure through life ,

Smoke is proubly not someone I would let my four year old hangout with ,based off plublic interviews at heated times , the fact that , he is, who he is, thats why I like him, In his darker days, if someone shoved a microphone in my face after a heated turn of laps , id proubly tell them stick it where the sun dont shine too? Smoke has cleaned up his plublic image lately and that is good, (for those of us, that dont see racing as a intence sport), remember , be who you is not what you isnt . Besides, its much easier to deal with yourself that way JMO its good to see them Boys , being Boys ,regardless!

I happened to be watching Friday afternoon when a '62 sprint car was sold for $47,000. 3-time Little 500 winner, driven by Johnny Anderson (I think) and Gordon Johncock. Pretty sweet seeing that thing up there. They even fired it up to get it on stage.

Dirtdevil... I wasn't bashing Stewart by any means, the reason I am a fan of his is that he can drive the living sh*t out of anything he competes in, and more times than not win in the thing! My point was that he doesn't care whether or not he looks a little scruffy or whether he needs to look like the poster boy for a shaver company.

Looks like Smoke has made a new friend, Bill Goldberg. Maybe Mr Goldberg can act as Smoke's own personal body gaurd, or new jack man...LOL. You never know, Tony might just piss somebody off again on the racetrack one day, like Jeffy or Jimmy J, or the evil Busch Bros. Smoke'll need all the renforcements he can get. I see Smoke pickd up a couple of nice rides, a black GTO and an orange 50 Merc coupe I beleve. Tony is truly one of a kind. Anybody that can hang out at the Dingus all night and party in the Knoxville Raceway campground till the wee hours is definitely all right by me. Not to mention all the humanitarian work he's involved with and the grassroots racing that he supports.

Rebel, I wasnt directing my rant to anyone in paticular, sorry for the misunderstanding ?, you are 100% correct,

I do believe Smokes heart is in a open wheel car, reguardless ,

I still dont understand his bashfullness to step into a 410? maybe its something to do with prior comitments? its not like a 360 is (much) different?
