No WoO sprints or LM at Port Royal this year. But there will be 5 High Limit races. Did High Limit chase WoO away , or did WoO pull the plug because High Limit has races there? OR were the WoO races just not money makers, and Port Royal staff pulled the plug on the WoO?

King's Royal week has already been announced Wed/Thur High Limit  and Friday/Saturday WoO.

4 Crown is 2 nights High Limit/USAC

My guess is there will still be a May weekend of Let's Race Two as WoO, but hasn't been made official yet.

If true, the outlaws are the problem not HL.  Like so many always want to say the HL is the problem.  WRG needs to grow up a lot if that statement is true.

Let's go Sprint Car Racing!

Knoxville - Best Track In the USA!
Eldora - 2nd Best Track in the USA!

WOO sprints dropped Port Royal and Port Royal dropped the WOO late models. I hope it works out for Port.

Heard HL dumped Wayne County which pissed off Sheldon and now Sheldon is promoting a Woo date at Wayne County in 2024. Imagine all that played a part in the 17 car back on the Woo trail also.

I headed that WOO offered Port Royal dates but they were dates that were of no benefit to the track so they declined them. (you can probably guess the five dates WOO wanted) Then the track dropped the Late Models because they have lost money  on them.

I'm interested to see what Illinois gets

Last year Tri City down in Granite City had WOO, Do they get them again or High Limit. Jacksonville Sppedway use to have WOO but haven't had them past couple of years, wonder if they get involved or even Fairbury. Too many track around Illinois to not get a race

I'm not a Port mark, overall i think it's a great track but they do make an occasional mistake. However I think Port is one of the few tracks in the country who truly don't need the WoO. They don't need HL for that matter either, but I'm sure Flo is giving them something.

That October WoO date after the National Open probably made some money but I don't think it was a huge hit, and if they can't get a summer date then it's probably not a huge deal dropping that weekend. As far as the Outlaws are concerned, they would be better off with Port than without, but they've never been the main attraction there as Port has alot of big races that have nothing to do w/ WRG.

I am probably wrong and I usually am and glad I can admit it but again I truly think this is way more of a dirtvision vs flo than it is high limit vs woo.  Husets and Knoxville both will not have High limit and that is because of dirtvision.  You can say it is the track but who are they get the money from.  Flo and dirtvisions is like fox vs cbs for football games back in the day or still today.

A next door neighbor. Port really screwed up on this one.

Reading the posts about High Limit it appears that the "rebellion" centers around Port Royal and PA fans.  Every track anywhere near me, Cedar Lake, Ogilvie, Jackson Husets, River Cities and Knoxville are all continuing their working relationships with the Outlaws.  I'm seeing few if any posts from my part of the country advocating the demise of the WoO.  So far, and that could change later today, attending touring 410 shows looks the same and for the most part at least where I'm located it's still the same weekly 410 shows and the WoO and IRA coming around a few times a year.

In my part of the country the Outlaws draw big crowds everywhere the go.  So far the only impacts I see are that a couple of fan favorites won't be with the Outlaws next summer.  We are too far off the beaten path to ever see Kyle so that isn't a big deal.  So far it's Brad and Jacob.  The northwest won't be seeing any Outlaw races and Ohio Speedweek lost the All Stars.  As a casual observer who isn't caught up in what Port Royal and High Limit is doing I see this as just another USA/NST type of deal.  History takes a dim view of those series along with the Indy Car split as having caused more harm than good.  Or to put it another way, this past season what was it, 14 or so teams crossing the country.  If more had the means to tour they would be doing it.  The idea that splitting into two series is going to motivate more to travel doesn't make sense.  By my way of thinking it's 14 divided by 2 = 7.

I am guessing that most here are too young to recall the "split" in 1989 when the United Sprint Association went head to head againsts the Outlaws.  Lots of teams went to the new series.  I remember that when the Outlaws came to town, there were a LOT of West Coast NARC teams that filled in the rosters.  If I am not mistaken, Brent Kaeding won the feature(s) at Big H Speedway.  The new series ran at Battleground Speedway.  Sadly, neither track is operating as a dirt track any longer.  Steve Kinser was the champion for the new series and Bobby Davis Jr. was the outlaw champion.

Hi Stan, it seems as though there won't be much of impact yet up here in Minnesota but give it time. This thing stinks. Our world is divided so of course the same happens to sprint car racing. I think people overstate the health of 410 sprint car racing.

The real missed opportunity with this is we should band together to reduce the cost of racing sprint cars. Reducing the cost will be the sport more sustainable. How is the open ATM situation we have now sustainable? Sure, the drivers make more in the short term. But what happens when these high spenders stop? The economy is in tough shape, my company laid off people recently (as have others), it seems like war could break out at anytime (for the US), etc.

The real losers in all of this are the fans. We have a lesser quality product and we will pay higher ticket prices for it. Classic America in the mordernage, pay more for less.

This power and money grab could set back the entire industry. We will see what happens. The Outlaws have brand recognition. I get suspicios of a streaming service swooping in and trying to take over the racing world. What happens when they get bored and move on to Power Slapping or something else?

I don't see how we can have two legitmate premeir sprint car series. There are not enough top tier cars. Instead of seeing the best, we will see most of the best. Which is better than nothing, but if the powers at be aren't careful, we will have nothing.

I do remember that year and it wasn't a good time for Sprint car racing. I also remember both series being in Pa the same weekend once with Woo at Lincoln and USA at Selinsgrove the same night, so they not only split the cars but the fans also  no surprise the USA only lasted one season. The ironic thing is now Selinsgrove has a Woo date for the first time since I believe they ran the USA race.

Selinsgrove had a WoO race in 1991 and Todd Shaffer Camel Express/Turnbaugh Oil #11 won.

And guess what Port ran against Selinsgrove that night, because I know I raced weekly at Port in 1991.

The 90's Port raced against Wo0 quit often when they raced at Hagerstown etc.

And guess what we had plenty of cars and fans to hold races against any traveling series.

A person said earlier,  the true problem is 410 sprint car racing costs to damn much.

If High Limit really wanted to help and change the sport as they say they want to it would implement cost savings. The same for WoO,  but it will never happen.  Because all.the big money teams like the game just the way it is. They win all the races and get parts and pieces for.free and half.price.  The fans don't have any clue how racing really is.
