If I remember correctly, so far everyone but Macedo, Gravel and Schatz have confirmed that they are returning. The only new driver so far is Gio Scelzi..

I think they're up to 11, with Sweet being the biggest name that has confirmed. No word yet from Gravel, Sheldon, Schatz or Macedo, but expectations are most will return.

They'll have 13-15 (maybe 16?) by time they're done. It should once again be a nice sized group of travelling regulars despite the (annual) predicted demise of the series. I can remember some pretty lean years with regulars in the single digits. The numbers have been pretty stout the past few years considering the costs and fuel prices.

i would think that part of the decision behind the WoO allowing 4 or 8 unsanctioned shows was not only fostered by the HL shows but also the million. I would think that each Pl;atinum team would have asked for a chance to race the million. Maybe tony's revenge???????? I know Sweeet and Larson are in business together , but how does Tony fit into their friend group, ill admit im a conspiracy guy , maybe there is an multi faced attack to bring down the WoO, then Tony can expand the Ascoc?
just thoughts to ponder.
Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

It's not about High Limit as a series, it's not any competition to the WoO, it's about the tracks scheduling races around the WoO schedule (including High Limit) without having to pay the WoO sanction fee to get them drivers. The sanction fee is what allows the huge tow money, huge point fund money and other contingencies the members get paid. If tracks want them guys at their track, they need to pay the fee, plain and simple. 4 races grace will keep most of the high limit with only 2-3 Outlaw drivers each at them tops and that is fine. without the 4 race restriction, those tracks would get all the benefit of WoO drivers without the fee and then other tracks don't pay the fee and then the WoO cant pay the perks and then the drivers drop from the tour. As it stands, they all are coming back and the tracks too cheap to pay the WoO sanction fee won't be able to poach more than 2-3 of the WoO drivers per race. The drivers running the million have to run 2 nights because Wednesday results set the lineups for Thursdays heats and you are not going 12th to 3rd in a heat race at Eldora, no matter how good you are. That leaves 2 other races to keep FULL benefits. I still am interested to see how they treat the Cappy this year as it's usually well attended by the WoO guys, but in the past have simply had to get permision, now will it count against their 4???
All Stars is more a regional series and is also not looking to compete against the WoO, nor are the tracks that schedule All Star Races. This years WoO is looking up with the addition of Scelzi and the All Stars down with the loss of Peck, Balog and Reinhardt and no significant addition that I've heard of yet, leaving Courtney, Schuernberg, Wise, Windom, Thiel, 11 Car?? 4 car???? and??????

This is not rocket science, you sign the Platinum agreement now and take the benefits until sometime closer to mid-season and then make the stay or go decision based on how you are doing in the season and where you are in the points.

100% agree no one is forcing anyone to sign the platinum deal you can run any damn race anywhere you just won't get the benefits if you run everything, it's their money to do what they want.

Tony can try to expand the Ascoc all he wants, but the Ascoc does not have drivers/teams that can afford to expand nationwide. If he wanted to bring the Outlaws down, and expand the Ascoc, he would then have to:
1. Inrease points money
2. Pay substantial tow money/show-up fund for each race
3. Make a deal with all full time drivers to ensure he had a full field of All-Stars as advertised at every track on the schedule (Vs. Guy Webb's "All Star" race I attended in Wilmot 10 years ago that was essentially an IRA race with 3 All Star travelers)
4. Have drivers sign some sort of "exclusive" or "no-complete" clause so his series was the only place you could see the drivers he has invested so much money in---he wouldn't want you seeing these drivers at their home tracks on an off night since he has invested so much money in them through the series.
5. Make an exclusive deal with a streaming service so all Ascoc races can be seen on his channel
Sound familiar?

he could also put the Tony Stewart Car and driver in the Tony Stewart series, that combined with payouts the WoO are not paying would eat away at one corner of the WoO but it might be too late for that since the DS phenomin has tapered off.
He could easily make the Ascoc bigger and the WoO smaller but it might cost him his net worth. He seems to be a shrude dude with a long memory of past hurts but he seems to be too wise financially to let his emotions bankrupt him. in short i think he could affect the landscape drastically but he wont.

True. There are enough moron fans out there that think people like Stewart, Kahne, and Larson have endless amounts of money to spend, and should be willing to give up millions of dollars for nothing more than their entertainment. So in their eyes, Tony should absolutely spend double-digit millions over the next season or 2 just out of spite................................... sadly, that's the mentality.
There's a reason these big-dollar teams keep signing the deal with the WoO------when combining sponsorship dollars, tow money, prize money, and points money, it's the only way to run the entire country and not be in the red! Wealthy or not wealthy, these owners don't want to run sprint car teams off of their retirment funds!! (most anyways)

The All Stars are a regional series not national. It's a reward system if you don't need it great run everything you want but these are the rules so quit crying about it.

This from a guy who considers the All-stars JV and says a race with them can't be as good or big as one with the WOO.

They are the jv team. However, they are not hurt by letting there drivers race other races when they want to.
Let's go Sprint Car Racing!

Doesn't matter regional or national. It still doesn't hurt either organization letting them race during the week when that are not racing.
