I would say that Grandview Speedway will definitely and unfortunately be done.

the first dirt races i ever went to were grandview in the late 90s/early 2000s. i had only been to nascar tracks so it was the first time i tried a local dirt track. i've been hooked ever since.
it sounds like a situation of an aging owner with an opportunity they couldn't pass up. i won't pretend to know all the details though. sad to see it go and it's unfortunately lehigh valley races fans will lose their closest track. it's big diamond and then out to central pa or into new jersey.

That place will draw one heck of a crowd for the freedom 76er this year you will have to park miles away and there will be people there days in advance and they make more money from the 76er than they do selling the place!

That race at grandview is always one of the very best. I hope it's just current ownership trying to find a buyer for the place. Grandview will be a great loss.

I took alum's post to mean the current owner is fishing for a buyer to keep it a track by putting this story out there.

I also seen that the same company ( Copart) is wanting to buy I-30 speedway in Arkansas as well.

Why would they zero in on race tracks? Something to do with zoning already in place?

From what I read, they focus on racetracks because the property has already been cleared of trees, etc. They also bought (and closed) Englishtown Raceway, the drag strip in NJ that hosted an annual NHRA tour event.
Now I-30 too? So are the STN cancelled now?

Both articles that I read said that it did have something to do with zoning.
Indiana Open Wheel has a link to the story.

That sucks. GV is a great track and PA speedweek loses a much needed bullring. I wonder who gets their SW date and who(if anyone) will pick up the modifieds on Saturday nights.

Yup, barring something out of left field this place is toast. It's a shame, as this is the track I lived closest to and practically lived at on Saturdays when I was a kid. My dad worked at the track for a few years as well or helped on a couple of cars that raced there.
It usually provided some great, tight, 410 bullring action. In a state where people are used to the bigger half miles, if the track was prepped right, it was a great place to get up close to the track and watch some badass slicing and dicing.
Alas.

I read an article where the owner said if the paperwork wasn't signed by a specific date and I assume that also meant zoning approval, that they would run a 2023 season. It stinks they didn't give them a few years to run like the East Bay deal turned out, but such is life.

Longtime, thanks. It will be a lose if it does close.
