From looking at their online printable schedule i have 2 questions.

1. I see a $22,000 to win late model race on a Tuesday night. Is that a typo? Seems like a lit for a local group on a weekday.

2. The 4 crown weekend, do they now have 6 classes of cars racing?

Tuesday night, 50 slm show up, kyle larson ran away with the win, and people want to compare bristol as to why the car count and fans in the seats was terrible. HUH.

1. Not a typo, and not a "local" group.  Last night was the opener for the FloRacing Night in America mini-series.  This is the 2nd season for this series.  It's all mid-week shows with big purses at various tracks.  They are racing again tonight at Brownstown, Indiana.  (The Eldora race was postponed from a couple of weeks ago; they don't typically race this series on back-to-back nights.)

2. If you consider 2 separate series of winged 410 sprint cars as different divisions (WoO Friday, All Stars Saturday) then I believe you are correct about 6 divisions.  The definition of "4 Crown" comes from the original race setup that Earl Baltes and Johnny Vance (iirc) came up with in the 80s.  The idea was to race all 4 of USAC's national divisions at one event (at the time they had a stock car/late model division), hence the 4 crowns.  In recent years the format of the event has changed to improve attendance on Friday, and likely Saturday as well.  Friday was originally just qualifying and maybe some heat races for the 4 divisions, so you can imagine that people wouldn't be so interested in attending that night.

Saturday is when the crowns are awarded:   Midgets, Non-Wing, Silver Crown and 410 Winged.

Friday is Midgets and 410 Winged (WoO sanction) and Silver Crown Qualifying

Saturday is complete shows and awarding of the the crowns for Midgets, Non-Wing, 410 Winged (All Star Sanction) and B-A Mains for Silver Crown.

Much better 2 day show now with the Friday night being 2 complete shows (Midgets and WoO) and Silver Crown qualifying.

Not sure who will be going for all 4 crowns this year; Courtney, Bacon and Axsom for sure; Windom, Thorson, KTJ, and Ballou possibly.

Last nights attendance was bad from two things,  It was in low 40s upper thirties in temp and the reshedule.   It's put on by Flo and Castoroil and a few other sponsors.

Larson had a flo racing event at Bulls Gap two days before bristol and the place sold out completely  (Still didn't keep the track from closing fort the year afterwards)   But it was huge.

Car count at Eldora was 51 LM's only a couple of the best of the best weren't there like Moran.

I bet Brownstown packs the place tonight  (Weds) for the second show.

Yeah it wasn't the crowd anyone wanted but Online subscriptions and viewing were thru the roof.

Remember  Tony put on a least two LM high paying races and A sprint car weekend in 2020 with NO FANS and three member teams all thru sponsors and flo.

It's a failure on behalf of the sprint car sanctioning bodies that there isn't a similar type of event for sprint cars, which have a bigger geographic reach and fan base than late models.

But that's a topic for another day. It still boggles the mind that late models can pay the purses they do when their in person audience is so bad. I know they do well several places but they had awful crowds at 1) Las Vegas last Nov; 2) Vado over the winter; 3) Bristol for the XR deal and 4) Eldora last night.

Smart marketing by Flo to have mid week events that boost online viewing for people who cant travel.

To win the 410 crown do you need to race both nights, thus eliminating all WoO drivers from the possibility????

Roger on both accounts.

The crowns are for the winners of the Saturday A Mains X 4.

Speaking of the Eldora schedule, maybe it's just me but I miss a good old stand alone sprint car show on a saturday night. All Stars, USAC, whatever, some street stocks as filler.....don't matter.

No multi-day extravaganzas, no fireworks, no mardi gras beads, no camping taking over every square inch of the joint, no power drinking, no being trustees of modern chemistry, no all night cornholing each other. Just a nice simple evening where I can run over to Darke county and catch an open wheeled race. Then we all get in our vehicles and go home.

Yeah, yeah, get off my lawn blah blah blah. You know I'm right.

I have been reading a bit more about this series of late models. Flow racing sponsors Larson so they can essentially tell him when to race. All the events are weekdays so there's no conflict with NASCAR, it's a boring week night with almost no other racing to watch and they get everybody that likes Larson from late model fans to sprint car fans to NASCAR fans. Wonderful marketing.

NOBODY tells Kyle Larson where to race or when except maybe Richard Childress.

I can't wait for the Doty classic and the Kings Royal.   Eldora is the place to be in the middle of July!

Are you sure about that Straws... Ohio gets pretty damn slick mid July?

In the last 4 times I have been to Eldora.  The track was only bad once where the times were in the low 14 second bracket.  Every other time they have been between the very low 13 second to mid 13 second bracket.  One time is not the normal.  When it is above 14 seconds all the time then it is time for something to change.

Yes, I am sure!  Very sure!
