Coons Named Inaugural MidgetMadness.com “Top Gun of the Year”
Jerry
Coons, Jr. has been named the inaugural MidgetMadness.com "Top Gun of
the Year," presented by JE Pistons. Coons, from Tucson, Arizona, had
one of his best seasons ever behind the wheel of a midget on his way to
capturing his second consecutive USAC National Midget championship.
Among
his 16 midget wins in 2007, Coons found victory lane at some of the
biggest midget races of the year, including his second career
Belleville Midget Nationals, the “Sue Thiel Memorial,” the “Bob Wente
Memorial” and the “Fireman’s Midget Nationals.” In addition, he also
won the Indiana Midget Week Title and was the 2007 Australian Speedcar
Champion.
Coons will be presented the Top Gun award at an event
to be determined later. There will also be a page on MidgetMadness.com
featuring Coons with a recap of his great season.
MidgetMadness.com
will also honor all the "Top Guns" who won the 2007 championships in 14
National Midget groups. All the drivers will be featured on a
limited-edition t-shirt and poster. JE Pistons is the presenting
sponsor with associate sponsors Fuel Safe, Super Shox, Awesome Race
Suits, and OpenWheelMarketplace.com.
MidgetMadness.com 2007 limited-edition “Top Guns” t-shirts and posters are currently available on the website at http://www.midgetmadness.com.
