For many Limited Modified (SIMS, IMCA Southern Sport Mods and UMP Limiteds as well as the unsanctioned type that fit the Full-Framed SIMS/Sport Mod rules) racers in Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana, one of the last opportunites if not THE last opportunity to race in 2007 is this Thursday, Friday and Saturday at Houston Raceway Park in Baytown, Texas and it won't cost any entry fee on any night. Just pit passes.
Thursday pays $500 to win and $35 to start with a $25 pit pass.
Complete show all three nights includes heats (draw for starting position with a new draw each night), B mains and feature. They are independent shows so not making it to the track on one of the nights does not hurt you at all on the other nights. The pay window is open all three nights so no waiting around to the third night to get your money if you don't want to. (in fact, you probably HAVE TO pick it up each night, not sure on that part though...)
Anyway, depending on car count, they will lock in anywhere from 2 to 5 cars per heat but the top 2 or 3 in each heat will redraw for their starting positions in the A. For example, if 40 to 50 cars show, that's probably 4 heats with most likely 4 cars (maybe 5), transferring to the A from each. The top 3 in each heat will draw from a deck of cars as they leave the track to set the top 12 starting spots in the A. The remaining 4 cars from the heats get 13th through 16th starting spots and the rest of the cars run B mains to round out the field. That's just an example. It could change depending on car count.
Friday pays $700 to win and $40 to start with a $30 pit pass. Same format.
Saturday pays $1000 to win and $50 to start with a $30 pit pass. Same format.
Again, NO entry fees any night for Limited Modifieds and overnight parking will be available. NO mufflers required.
If you've never been to HRP, you have not raced on a finer, wider, nicer 1/4-mile oval facilty anywhere! Paved pits for well over 100 race car rigs. (I estimate about 140 rigs AND their race cars were parked on pavement at the Texas Grand) Big, nice partially covered grandstand. Great lighting and safety features. It'll be a fast, well run show! No all-nighters unless rain interferes.
You'll love it!
