Yeah, you got suckered in by the thread title.
Seeing the entry lists for the 361 and 410 Knoxville Nationals races made me wonder. Of the racers going this year, I figure Sammy has raced the most number of laps during the Knoxville Nationals than anybody, probably by a wide margin. But who else is in the top 5 of laps raced?

Great question and I thought maybe someone would have the answer. EZ2BME tracked those kinds of stats and I know he went back to the first Nationals and had a summary of all Nationals feature races with finishing positions, etc. Unfortunately the web site he linked to is no longer active. EZ2BME if you are out there, do you have this info?

I'm saying the king. Steve has won it more that anyone, and if your only talk the nationals it has to be him. In fact, I would think it has to be mostly woo guys. McCarl missed making the field a couple times. Donny has to be up there. Wolfgang, Sammy, Brian Brown would be my dark horse local to toss in there.

I think it's pretty evident who the all-time top 5 would be, that's why I asked about the guys who are running the Knoxville Nationals this year.

Knoxville does a great job tracking stats for everything including the Nationals. This is everyone with at least 15 starts, your top 5 comes from this list:
A Main Lineup Qualifiers (Most Times)
35…Steve Kinser
34…Sammy Swindell
26…Danny Lasoski
22…Terry McCarl
22...Donny Schatz
21…Stevie Smith
20…Paul McMahan
19…Mark Kinser
19…Craig Dollansky
19…Joey Saldana
19…Shane Stewart
18…Jac Haudenschild
18…Jeff Swindell
18…Greg Hodnett
17...Daryn Pittman
15…Doug Wolfgang
15…Dave Blaney
15...Tim Shaffer

Well that's interesting. Taking into account drivers that will be there for the 360 or 410 nationals or both, the top 5 maybe looks like this?:
Sammy TMac because he's done both 360 & 410 alot Stewart both 360/410 (?) Schatz Then it's maybe too close to call. Have McMahan, Haudenschild or Pittman run many 360 nationals?

5 Wins in 15 starts, that's impressive but Schatz is 10 for 22.

Amazing, plus he ran 2nd or 3rd in a few more of those features. That makes Kinser look like a back marker - only 12 for 35!

Yeah, Kinser had to run a bunch more Nationals races to make his stats look better.
Of course, there's another guy who's 1 for 34... but he's till racing so maybe he can catch up.

I dont know the answer but if looking at laps ran only, it could easily not be one of the big names and someone who always had to run a full show friday and transferred through a few mains on saturday for many years also the 50 lap A mains are giving the current era drivers double the saturday laps...
Brown could be up there with all of the times hes had to run the new friday format and for the 50 lap A mains

"Taking into account drivers that will be there for the 360 or 410 nationals or both, the top 5 maybe looks like this?:"
The original poster asked the question about the Nationals, 360 races do not count in this consideration.
Thanks for playing.
