Great effort to get the races in.A rain like that makes the best qualifing track but on a big track the racing becomes a motor track with everyone wide open. 410 field short on numbers this year.Browns without question the best weekly racer at Knoxville. His payday was as good as winning a WOO show and at his home track.

One could also say, "not much quality in the 410 weekly field at Knoxville this year".

Comparing to the fields they're drawing at Jackson and Husets and the strong weekly fields in Grand Fords as well as the numbers at most IRA races the reason is obvious. Big motor tracks with other nearby more motor friendly options. That is simply one of those facts of life in racing. Not every team is funded well enough to run those big motor tracks. A crash at a big half mile is almost always going to be harder on pieces often resulting in a junk chassis. Big half miles require owners and sponsors with deeper pockets.
PS, big motor was probably a poor choice of words as one 410 is the same displacement as the next one. More accurate would be strong motor program with spares. How many times have we seen cars loaded up when the bend a chassis or break a motor? That is because they're not well funded enough to pull spares out of the trailer. Some sit out weeks to regroup in situations where well funded teams are back out there by the time the B Main lines up. I grew up watching racing on a half mile but they are definitely harder on everything.

Yeah it's real thin hard to sell tickets promoting guys who haven't ever won and others who haven't won in years.

The Madsens and A McCarl plus Gio traveling are 4 top cars that could win.Brown traveling some also will make for some first time winners. Probably not many B features except when the other series come to town.

Brown is obviously the class of the field. I think Terry could still get it done but not sure what he's running under the hood.
Obviously car counts are a little low this year but I think over time between Jackson and Husets you'll start seeing more guys stick around or race in the upper midwest.

This was proven once again last night. Four outlaws show up and finish in the top three spots and sixth after coming from the back.

Yep same old stuff for Brown. Yes he is awesome when he has no competition at Knoxville. Yes he should win every week. Who is there to race against him. So overrated. The big Dogs come to town and he struggles against real competition. Brown wont beat the Outlaws at Knoxville but he will sell alot of Caseys Pizza and Rowdy drinks. Congrats Sweet!

I will say the knoxville regulars don't defend their home turf very well. Atleast the posse shows some fight.
