first year in sprint car racing . I will be running with a lower HP (400) non wing series.
was wondering if anyone would be willing to share a good starting point (baseline setup). 17 triple x chassis 87-40 raised rail wedge car. current bars/shocks in the car LF1000 shock 4 RF 1050 shock 5/4 RR 1025 shock 5 LR 1000 shock 4/9. any help at all with torsion bar choices blocking height turns in or out on the jacks Jacobs latter (3 hole option) rear trailing arm bars (upper and lower mounts for left and right) any info you are willing to share would be greatly appreciated weather its very detailed or very vague ill take anything . it is a lower hp car and the websites I go to for setups are for 360 410s. tracks are 3/8 semi banked (approximately 10-15 degree banking) usually track conditions average/slick to slick in features top speeds of 75-80 mph. also I bought a 53 axle to put in it and am wondering when I center the front axle do I offset it to the right or left at all or true center. do I need to buy non wing bird cages to get ride heights I want or will wing bird cages work. and as a driver will the car feel loose as they drive with the rear end of the car? will I be braking on corner entry? lift and throw the car in ? again I know its a lot of questions any info would be greatly appreciated

Call triple x and talk to them. Being I'm guessing it is a used car, the most important thing to do is make sure that the car is square. Take the motor plate out and check to see if it is flat and level. Put the car on 3.5 " blocks then measure from the front of the motor plate to the center of the front axle. You have to be precise with the numbers. Do the same for the rear. Then measure from the center of your axles wonce you have them square to the Torsion bar rack in the front and rear. All your radius rods have to be of equal lengths to get the exact numbers left to right. If your off, you better find a shop that can find where your chassis is bent. Good luck and have fun.

Eagle and XXX have set up sheets for  non wing cars  Yes you should use 63 in axel Yes make sure front axel and rear are square with motor plate.  Be smart. start in rear of your races till you can start passing cars with comfort.  As far as I know you should measure from king pin to frame and  you front axel should be 3 inch more to right.  If track always dries out you might want lift shocks on front when dry.  Tou will just have to work on corner entry till you get right feel.  Just go to computer to XXX and Eagle chassis set uo sheets.

get a setup sheet from a chassis builder website set it up like that and go race, learn to drive the car with that setup, dont chase setup trying to fix your new/bad habits adjust wheel spacing and air pressure, leave the rest alone until your comfortable enough to feel and know what your changes are doing.

Measurements are critical just like the previous posts say.

put your jacobs ladder in the center hole and dont touch it til 2023

Good Luck and welcome to going broke!

Good solid advice. Tire pressures and wheel spacing/off sets should plenty of adjustments to get your feet wet with a standard set up for your chassis. I moved from there to adjusting ride height and panhard bar set ups for my micro, then to springs and shocks Get seat time and get comfortable in your car before making too many adjustments. Take notes!!!

Good luck and be safe.
