Kyle’s Second Chance
I for one am tired of these motor racing writers continuing to pile on Larson. Its not like anyone in America hasn’t heard/read many times, the story of Kyle and the “oops” word from almost a year ago. Speed Sport magazine has went over the hill on this old story in its latest February issue by a writer I never heard of before. The title of my post is the title of that article and it is in about 90 font bold letters in the magazine..
1st paragraph: Kyle Larson is hoping a second chance will wipe away a lasting impression. 3rd paragraph: during a sim broadcast when Larson uttered a racial slur 5th para Larson gets a second chance and he is hopeful the new opportunity will help him wipe away a lasting impression . 15th paragraph: Larson does not want his life determined by one mistake . . . Larson is prepared to make good on his second chance. 19th paragraph Larson made a mistake. He has owned up to it. 22nd para: Larson has had time to reflect on the indiscretion that sidetracked his NASCAR career, . . .it didn’t happen in the field of competition but while he was competing in an online sim racing event. 32nd paragraph: Larson gets a second chance to make a lasting impression. (the third “lasting impression&rdquo
AND each and every question he was asked and answered had to do with one single topic, the “oops” word, nothing else was talked about. Remember when that young black actor hired two white people or was it two hispanics to beat the hell out of him and then he went to the police station and reported that two white people beat the hell out of him. He should have been put in prison but nothing happened. It was reported but then nothing. What's he doing, he's still an actor. Actually helped his career. Then there was nascar's Bubba Wallace claiming white people put on noose on a rope in his nascar garage when it was just the same rope every team has for their car's garage. to pull the door down. A dozen FBI agents were sent to the Nascar track and found the story was nothing.
Lawlessness and liberalism equals Hell. NY City,
Detroit, Seattle, Chicago, Minnepolis, etc. We saw it.
Burning hundreds of buildings, a thousand assaults and
dozens of murders. Getting worser and worser.

Well if you are tired of seeing & reading the articles then you could do an intelligent thing and not read them. Journalists, or writers, opinion writers, newspapers, publications, websites make money on advertising. People read, click, buy a subscription then write about said topics means there is space to advertise on said articles. By reading them and then posting something about the articles (especially referencing the publication) shows them that people will have their eyes on that particular subject matter so they will continue to bring it up until they get no reaction on it. Whether you agree or disagree or will change your opinion (given your other statements you won't) on the matter is irrelevant, you may not think so but it is.
As far as your other statements 1) neither of them have anything to do with Kyle Larson at all and are separate incidents again irrelevant to his situation. 2) Bubba Wallace himself never claimed that white people put a noose in his garage stall, it was his team members who reported and no one claimed white people did it, and then it was later reported to Bubba who heard it 2nd hand. Bubba even stated plenty of times he never saw the noose himself at all which if people would actually read all of the article instead of headlines they would know this. 3) With as much that has been reported on I guess we are calling it the "oops" word even though it's 2020-2021 it really is no longer oops and downright ignorant to say the N word this day and age, there has been just as much reported about all of Larson's work at redemption and what he has done so it is not like just 1 side of the story is being reported. It is both, you just have to be able to have your brain open to looking and not just wanting to find ways to be miserable to suit your opinion. 4) Did I miss something or did I not see Kyle Larson racing yesterday in Nascar in one of the top tier teams in the sport? I thought that was him so I do not get why people are still bent out of shape over his penalty and I am a Larson fan. When the guy himself says he should have been suspended and basically did not cry or throw a fit and talk about how things were "unfair" for him, and instead gets on his feet and actually does something about his mistake, it is hard for me to say he got a raw deal. When in fact, he probably came out of it better in the end so I do not get why anyone is still upset over this.

i didn't know there was a relevant nascar media...let alone one that won't let larson forget his mistake. they're more interested in having loudmouths covering them than people who actually have something of substance to say. espn has been acting like nascar doesn't exist since they gave up the tv contract.
a more fair criticism is the sprint car fan base completely ignored what he did. if i dropped the n-word publicy...i would expect to have a tough time getting a job. all he did was win 40 races and get a ride with one of the most prestigious teams in nascar. not a bad year all things considered. thousands of sprint car fans just looked the other way.
but believe the narrative you want to believe. you're the one making it about race...so who's the one thinking about it?

This is really well said.
I just wish they would've interviewed him yesterday after running top 5 all day, but it's almost like FOX is avoiding talking about him. I remember in the 500 when they were talking about a car just in fron to Larson and Bowyer jumps in talking about Larson and nothing else gets said. That only hurts sponsors, which right now are just Hendrick owned companies at the moment.

It would have made more sence to say KYLE IS BACK. Kyle is a good kid and he learned. What if they had to take all NASCAR drivers out of NASCAR hall of fame for saying that word. It was wrong but Kyle knows it was wrong. We fans do not have to be reminded of it all the time. It should be over with.

We all got to see what a true talent Kyle Larson is afterwards. Am I glad he's back in nascrap, O hell no, but it's all about that pay check. As for the media, they're never going to let it rest. The day he wins a nascrap race it's going to take about 3 lines before the media says, well Kyle after the incident did you ever think you'd be back here. Then there going to stick a mic in front of Bubba and it will be the same garbage. Kyle will win, Bubba will be making excuses.

Great to see new owners and Bubba was a good choice for P.R. but definately not a front runner but a good ambasador for BLM,door pulls and flags etc.The other Bubba[Stewart]was a real black racer but fame and injuries were too much.Joe Gibbs knew the value of a minority racer.Kyle Larson has more talent and fans than most in Nascar. This whole deal was B.S.

Your reply is a perfect description of how big corporate power continues to control the people in most ways people don't think about. Nascar caved in to the "Corporate Says" rules. I did root for both Larsen & Bubba before both erred. Larsen erred by sharing an often said word between 2 friends. The double standard ruling seemed to be the verdict. A small fine & some adversity lectures would fit well enough on a MINORITY person. Bubba erred by not explaining the final findings of the "Noose"incident which stated that the garage pull down rope was actually there the previous years & in a stall far away from the 43 crew area. Bubba used & abused his chance to be politically correct race symbol. His inequility was boosted 23 fold by claiming the race card!
1 driver apologized & went above & beyond to achieve his present personality. Bubba on the other hand cashed in & now the court is still out on him.
I am not racist & these are my honest opinions on both drivers.
Nascar orchestrated a parade for solidarity & forced their employees to walk along.
Do you think Sr. would have walked with the lemmings?

Jussie Smollett is the actors name and he is in and out of court. Oh, it did affect his career, he is not working like he once was. He is having trouble finding acting jobs and is working behind the camera so it did TOO affect his career

Smollett is working at the love's truck stops. Don't worry about it. The government will make sure he gets free money. What a jack wad, period.

Is half black more minority than half Japanese? Or is America 100% racist against anyone not black. What if Kyle was half black and Wallace was half Japanese? Would that change anything? Or is America the most hypocritial thing ever? Let's just have the civil war and start over.

If you have to say "I'm not racist" you generally are racist. And that's just confirmed by the rest of your post thinking what Larson said is a "often said word between 2 friends".

I agree
Kyle screwed up, paid the penalty, & is back racing again
I don't think anybody considers him a bigot
I also think very few Americans of any race are 100% free of prejudice
Seems like the original poster might have some kind of ax to grind
I say just drop it!

You have exposed the hypocracy underlying this whole disengenuous mess. Was Barack Obama black? Half black? half white? If I look white but my dna report says I am 10% african does that mean I can use the nigger word? Too many double standards.
