Am hoping to make the USAC show at Husets.  Have never been to this track.  Looking for advice on seating before buying tickets.  Best spots, places to avoid, etc.

Many thanks

I used to sit in the top row close to turn 4 every Sunday night. Better than behind the flagstand in my opinion. Everyone has their personal preference though.

Actually not a bad seat in the place, just depends how close or far you want to be.

Good for you!  You'll love the place.

Every once in a while, I sat in the stands waaaay back when.  Back then, best seat was closest to the beer shack!

I've sat in Turn 4, about half way up, and wasn't disappointed with the view, however if I had to try another seat I'd move further towards the middle and a bit lower.

There were a few times I wanted to have a better view of the cars exiting turn 4 b/c I couldn't quite tell how close the right rear was to the fence. With no wings I think it would be even more difficult to see.

I've probably 3-4 rows ahead of you for a lot of years.

Since you ask....

The main seating is split up into sections, more or less, from the track up-
1) The area between the track and the concourse/ main walk way- You are right there! The racing is so close you feel it and taste it. Before they replaced the fence I shied away from that area for fear of wearing a racecar around my neck. Closer to the track you lose some visibility of the action on the straights. The outside wall tends to hide most of the cars on the front stretch. The signage on the inside of the track obscures the back chute. Sitting behind the flagstand gives a faie view of the corners. Moving towards #1 or #4 gives excelent views of those corners.

1a) A gazillion people stand on that concourse and halway watch from there. To me, they seem to be there for the socialization, because the view is of other people, not the track

2) The area between the concourse and the main left-right walkway up higher-excellent view all around. If you sit in the lower half dozen rows, you'll be dealing with people walking by to and from their seats.

3) Top rows above the main left-right walkway-excellent views of the whole track. The only exception would be the far end towards corner #1. There is a seating in a building going into #1 that obscures the upper corner of the entrance to #1.

I prefer to sit way up high in #4. You can see clearly how the cars handle in #4 and have a pretty good view of #1. There's not much of anything blocking view of anywhere on the track.

A couple things to keep in mind-
1)The seats are all new. A lot of them are from a stadium in Seattle(?). They are a little tight, front to back. I'm 5-10 and almost feel that I have to sit at an angle to be comfortable.
2) The center seats up above are more spacious. They are the ones at the center, below the announcer's booth.
3) On Google maps, you should be able to pick out the walkways and the different types of seating. The tighter ones seem to show up white, the more comfortable ones in black.
4) But- be careful of one area of seats. The area of wider seats at the center, below the announcer have a handrail at the bottom. That rail is a white, horizontal line about 3" tall. If you are in the bottom couple of rows there, that line obscures the action on the front chute.

I've never sat inside the VIP towers off the #1 or #4 corners. People I've talked to who have, liked the experience.

Park on the north side of the track, more towards the hill. It's easier to get out and onto I-90. There is handicap and motorcycle parking at the north end, close to the gate.

You'll like Husets. However, bring a hat, goggles, and earplugs just in case.

Not a bad seat in the stands.  Great looking place, right in there with Jackson, Lucas Speedway and a couple others.  Sometimes 10 laps into the feature it may start raining dust.

My favorite perch is at the north (#4 corner) end, way up near the top. Most of the passing seems to be done coming out of #2 or going into #3. That spot affords a good view of those areas, as well as the rest of the track. It's also high enough up that you don't have to wip your head back and forth to see the action like at a tennis game.

During warm-ups I like to sneak down to the south end, way down low. That puts you close enough to smell methanol burning and to dodge mud from rooster tails early in the evening. Smile
