Any guesses for car count at Dodge City this weekend? With everything else going on, I can't beleive they'll have many. It seems like a lot of the Midwest based teams that travel, are headed for the Tuscarora 50.
I'm not trying to turn this into any type of low car count bashing. It just seems like a decent road trip, but I can't imagaine more than 16-18 cars, which makes it less appealing.
Thoughts?

25 cars last year and 23 cars in 2018.
I would expect about the same this year.

Yup, that was cool. We were watching race monitor while at Port and counting down the laps. That was really great to see the emotion in victory lane as he's busted his ass for this.

I think it looks bad when the greatest racing group can only get 21 cars. No help from Knoxville drivers.

It happens from time to time. It's nothing new. They have had great car counts all year. Bound to be some shows where guys head off to other places or can't make the drive.

Of course I wish there were more cars there, but I knew what to expect going in.
I live in Colorado so this is the first time since the Chili Bowl that I saw a race with more than 10 cars in it.

Dodge City is so far from anywhere it gets tough. It's an 8 hour drive from Knoxville for example. That said, I'm surprised a couple of teams didn't venture out, it's a guaranteed $800 per night.

I found out a great way to increase car counts and driver happiness. Sponsor a car and if you spend enough to get your name on the top wing they'll go wherever you want them too. I tried bitching for way too many years and it just wasn't doing any good.

On a more serious note I don't think there is any 410 racing in Kansas or the area around it except I believe there is one track in Missouri that runs a 410 show. Brown and the Madsens went to the Tuscarora 50, I saw something about McCarls going to a 360 race I believe in Nebraska and there were a few Knoxville cars up in my neck of the woods running with IRA at the Jerry Richert Memorial. A lot of them know they're outgunned running with the Outlaws and look for other options. Mid to low 20's on a weekend when there are still a bunch of other races going on is about what I would have guessed for an Outlaw race in Kansas.
