The dude is the King of dead air time. He is a horrible slow talking Announcer.

How does he interview Rahmer and avoid talking about what just happened at the end of that race, and even more so, what happened after that race?
Seriously? WTF?

Rather have dead air and slow speaking than the circus that takes place in Port Royals press box every week.

Rahmer put his right rear into Macri's front left attempting a slide job that he didn't clear. Larson would have been proud. After the checker and eventually yellow Macri ran into Rahmer in near turn 1. That was a full lap after the checkered. Macri put his right wheels into Rahmer's left wheels pretty hard. They sort of chased each other down the backstretch. I expect this will end poorly eventually.

I totally agree. The announcing at Port Royal is almost bad enough to make you take back things that you didn't steal. You can like or dislike Bruce but at least he isn't up your ass all night long to the point where it's difficult to hold a conversation and his victory lane interviews are mostly about what happened on the track instead of fishing for compliments about the track surface.

Hey fiXXer, we finally agree on something. The Port has not had a great announcer for a long time. Don't know here they find them at but need to look elsewhere.

I thought it was tame considering they were racing for the win with three laps to go. It's a racing deal.

Hahahaha, fiXXXer, you made me laugh out loud. This is what my buddy and I talk about all the time, not to mention I've chimed in on here about Port's announcer(s). Yes, I dislike Bruce's dead air and lack of commentary on many things (like Marks failed slider about a month ago, dead silence) but I'll take it over Port's "hey track was great tonight, when you coming back, we are the best" horse crap every week. We need Brownie in VL to say something like "what? you blind?", lol. That would be the best.
But one good point with Port, they did dump one half of the mumble mouth duo and bring someone else in to announce. He's better, you can understand him, but he's still making mistakes. I'll withhold my judgement on him till he gets more time on the mic. I think he'll be fine.
But back on topic, I think Ellis is ok, was great, but time diminishes everything. He's harder to hear now as he talks so softly, he does let a ton of dead air and obviously ignores many things that happen on track, but I'd take him at Port. I wish Port would bring back Brouse but he has found a home at both WG and Selinsgrove. Port f'ed up on that one.

Bruce is a legendary announcer, his best days are probably behind him but how many announcers does anyone actually like? Most are annoying shills overselling the action on the track.

Sounds like a matter the two drivers, and only the drivers, should "discuss' in the pits.

You must be talking about Gibson.

I don't disagree. Hope it gets settled amongst the two young men. If asked about it I would hope they both comment that they met, it's over, and they're both past it.

Al least he isn't announcing monster trucks or pretending he is Rodney Dangerfield.

Are you saying that the announcers in Pa are just like the racers? Aren't what they used to be.....

Glad someone else is picking on on him starting to drive like his old man. Macri needs to use the tail tank to his advantage. Easier to spin them out and was less risky on the equipment.
I've always appreciated Bruce. Even more now that I am watching races all over the country.

My thoughts:
I still enjoy Bruce announcing at Williams Grove. He is the only announcer that I have known at Williams Grove since going to my first race in 1980. Agree about Dave Hare at BAPS. He is one of the best announcers in the entire country in my opinion. He has a great voice and is very knowledgable with all types of racing, from Super Sportsmen, Late Models to Sprint cars. I never get tired of hearing him announce a race. Port Royal: I love and appreciate everything they have done with the track over the last few years, but to constantly solicit positive comments from every driver that is interviewed is getting quite old. I have attended well over 100 dirt tracks, all over the country, in my day and NOT ONE OTHER track has an announcer who seeks out the "praise" like they do at Port Royal. ENOUGH, WE GET IT!!!!
