Disappointed to see they are requiring the Knoxville mufflers this year. That's equivalent to castrating a sprint car. Or, going to a rock and roll concert and barely being able to hear the band. This complaint is directed to the neighbors that complain about racing...suck it up and quit trying to ruin my fun A-holes!

I can't hear any difference when I'm at a mufflered track or a non-mufflered track. When Port Royal first required mufflers a few years ago, you could tell a slight difference but it seems that sprint car mufflers have become loader since then to the point where it's not noticeable to my ears.

Just be happy that these races are happening at all this year.

So so sad. Take a couple puffs on your weed and all will be well.

Well are you talking about a tractor loader or a pay loader? Or did you mean louder?

This being hopefully an accurate and quality forum, it would be nice if a poster would correct any mistakes using the EDIT function provided.

Or, the reader could simply use context clues to help infer what the original poster meant. It's not that hard.

It is also not that hard for a poster to edit his own mistakes!

I dunno. I talk with people all the time that don't use perfect grammar or speak in full sentences, let alone complete thoughts. I think you're asking too much for people on an informal racing message board to write perfectly. Honestly, if a guy was writing in pig latin, I think the majority of us would understand. Ouyay nderstanuay hatway 'mIyay ayingsay ?

Wow! Who would have thought a mispelled word would have caused such confusion and uproar? I almost feel compelled to fix it.

I wish ALL sprint car tracks and sanctioning bodies would adopt Knoxvilles muffler rule.
It doesn't castrate a sprint car. It makes it so my ears aren't ringing all the time. As you get older you'll start to appreciate your hearing more and wish you had done more to keep it when you were younger.
I'm surprised that Todd Quiring hasn't adopted the Knoxville muffler at Jackson and Huset's, it would go a long ways towards keeping the peace with the residents of Jackson and Brandon.
Most teams that run his tracks already have headers with the mufflers attached. He could offer discount or free mufflers to teams that don't have a set if they commit to running at his tracks somewhat regularly.

I find the Knoxville mufflers change the fan experience very little but certainly knock down the noise some distance away from the track. Open headers when out at a track in the middle of no where are fun but maybe slightly overbearing for some fans. I'm ok with knocking off a little noise for some folks and the neighbors, just don't make them sound like a Prius.

"don't make them sound like a Prius"
I wouldn't worry about THAT!
